I am a conservative and I am not opposed to environmentalism. As a matter of fact I have ALWAYS been an environmentalist in that I don't waste resources, such as water, food, gas, etc. Never have. I've never thrown a single gum wrapper on the ground. I've seen "environmentalists" do a LOT WORSE than that. Ergo, they speak with NO moral authority. Any authority they sometimes attain is "legal", which also has no moral authority.

It seems only the political left who carp about the rest of us using up the environment's riches. It's also only the left who complain about others owning guns. It's only the political left who want our borders open. The question about childishness would be better asked of the political left. The question would be: why are the political left so intent on preaching what they themselves do not practice? I believe the easy and true answer, but not the ONLY answer, is that they are determined to control everybody, sometimes for monetary gain, sometimes to obtain the necessary v**es, sometimes merely for the craven thinking that they are better than the rest of us, smarter, better. In their world, people who are different are somehow a threat to them, hence MUST BE CONTROLLED by them, the left.

Today's environmentalism has nothing to do with environmentalism. It has to do with control of other people's behavior.

Gun control issues are not about averting crime, but about controlling other people's behavior.

The intense desire to make sure i*****l a***ns are treated as citizens has nothing to do with desire to help the Mexican - it has to do with getting more v**es for Democrats. Obama said as much in a recent speech in Mexico.

IOW, the political left has become nothing more than craven liars without consciences, without compassion, without integrity, without honesty, and in order to maintain that level of misbehavior, they MUST be able to FORCE the rest of us to either join them or FORCE the rest of us into irrelevance.

Following are the reasons for the fighting about gun control, environmentalism, partial birth a******n, i*****l a***ns magically becoming Americans, green technology, failed public schools, bizarre behaviors being shoved down our throats.

I never watch Cenk and his girl friends unless someone links me to them. This thing tells the whole story for those who don't understand my ignore of him.

Cenk obviously doesn't buy his own light bulbs since he says in that video that they cost the same as the incandescants did. He even manages to avoid the fact that the government (under Bush) told us that we wouldn't be able to buy "safe" bulbs after a certain date.

Back to buying the damnable things. I have been buying "pigtail" bulbs for a number of years to use throughout the bank I am the janitor of. I know, from experience, that they cost between two and three times as much as incandescents do but last about that much longer.

That rant by Cenk and his girlfriend was so sad and empty that only a left leaner could accept any part of it.

roy's right they do cost more initially, he also right when he says that the government was "mandating" buying these bulbs. They wanted to stop the manufacture of the "Edison" bulbs and make them unavailable, so when Ana Kasperian says "No one is saying you can't buy the other bulbs!" She's wrong! That's only because there was such outrage about the government "forcing" the public to buy the so-called "safe bulbs". The thing that these "Young Dumb Turks" don't even mention is the fact that if you drop one of these bulbs, you practically have to call a haz-mat team in for a clean-up. They contain mercury. Even if you don't drop a bulb in your home and it finally burns out, what is it doing to our environment in the refuse chain? Where and when does it release the mercury when it is disposed of? How many discarded broken bulbs will constitute a hazard that will have to addressed somehow? This will probably involve some new "government department" responsible for accounting for and "safely" disposing of all the discarded "green" lightbulbs along with a hefty amount of money for personnel, equipment, admin, etc. Someone in government will be making money!

I think the first thing every American should realize is that the federal government has no interest whatsoever in the well-being of American citizens - EXCEPT getting their v**e and getting their money. End of story. Every bill passed, I maintain is unnecessary, unhealthy for American's freedoms, deadly for everyone's pocketbooks, and ALL benefits derived from same, goes to the politicians' pocketbooks or their best interest in various forms. In Obama's government however, the sole purpose in EVERY bill the democrats pass, the objective is designed to insult us and take away our freedoms - he NEEDS total control over us; hence the gun control issue, the i*****l a***n issue, the environmental issues, the health care issue - ALL ARE DEADLY TO THE AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE.

I don't have a problem with environmentalism either. I compost, try to grow organic, and I h**e Monsanto. What I do have a problem with is that their is usually a progressive agenda associated with environmentalism. It usually ends up being something like PETA on steroids. Where I live, they are trying to pass a law that would give our river the right to exist, even if it means doing away with people. Sounds like a case of liberals not letting anybody swim in the river because they would finally have to take a bath.

Exactly! Look what they tried to do to the timber industry when they decided the spotted owl was endangered. None of us wants to k**l off species of any sort, but there is such a thing as good, common sense, and the left isn't capable of common sense. It doesn't make them "feel good about themselves."

Exactly!!

I don't know about liberals bathing but I do believe you need to find out if your local government is involved with ICLEI. So many local governments are into that thing and that thing is a tool of Agenda 21 and both will end up dispensing with a whole lot of people to keep up their favorite term, sustainable growth. Check to see how often that bunch uses the term, sustainable in anything they write. I am serious as hell about this.

I just told navy snipe to check the local government for involvement with ICLEI and it is very necessary for anyone who doesn't lean far enough left to allow those people to destroy what they have.

I talked to the mayor about 3 months ago. He assured me that they did not REsign with the agenda 21 plot. Can't say I believe him though as he is a politician....

The fact that they have been in ICLEI means they probably still are no matter what they say. You need to go to some council meetings to be sure.

It us good to find someone who seems to have some knowledge of Agenda 21. Do you know quite a lot, like the map of the US that shows very little human habitation?

Its easy to spot when they use their key words, like smart growth, sustainability, etc. You can buy land in the country but try and get a permit for a well and your up a creek. They want everyone in condos in the city, riding their bikes like good little s***es. Satan's children are hard at work these days.
