He just showed up very early in the morning October the year before last, looking like "is it ok for me to be here ?"

That same day there was another dead cat about his age on the paved road a few hundred yards from my house. They could have been littermates. Poor guys.

My wife and I have 6 rescues; every one of them has a different problem. Two are mother and daughter that we got from a hoarder, one was a stray who had her tail bitten off, one was born in a Walmart parking lot and has only one eye, one was abandoned in a house and was starving when we got her and one was thrown out of a car and had two broken legs. We live in the country so we have room for them and my wife has a lot of room in her heart. We also have two horses we got that were starving and the county wanted to put down but with a lot of TLC and vet bills, are doing fine.

He is cute!! Keep him healthy & give him plenty of love.

About two decades ago there used to be over a dozen cats & kittens, two dogs & two chinchillas in this house. As well as three humans. I'm the only one left.

Someone call the cops.

We've had our share of vet bills but none of our cats is handicapped at the moment.

The oldest is about 16 and he seems in pretty good shape. My ma noticed he was shrinking around the withers...an early sign of urinary failure...so we've been giving him mannose and he's filled back out nicely.

2 are jet black littermates. 13 now...abandoned as kittens.

1 calico female also 13. She has a spinal defect which curls her tail up but it doesn't seem to bother her too much. She can relax and straighten her tail out when she wants.

Then there's Kevin. He's a little over 2 now.

And a friend of mine who had to move to AZ blessed me with the other two...a tortoiseshell female and a pale yellow and white tuxedo male. They're around 12 and 13 months respectively.

Funny thing about the tortoiseshell female.

The moment he got her I wanted her but he didn't want to give her up.

I ended up with her anyway.

People are horrible sometimes, BTW.

It bothers me what cruelty some of us are capable of.

Guess.

My husband told me yesterday morning that he was presented with a sign by Mama and Sister Sue, 2 cats that came with our house and 3 kittens.....Rhett, Scarlet, and Melanie (my protest against the protesters)

It read:

“Cat Lives Matter” Apparently they had run out of food! 😂

That's how I felt trucks and winter so we got up to 15 then the family convinced my wife to get rid of the cats, I'll never forgive them for that one. Happily many are snowflakes so I really don't care.

There are lots of rabbits, ground squirrels, gophers, mice and the like around here.

I say around here. There are none actually here. Not for long anyway.

The cats k**l the neighbors' gophers too. It's a public service.

Rabbits are stupid, BTW, sir.

No wonder everything eats them.
