Dr Ben Carson clarifies his position on the 2nd Amendment.

I have a problem with most anyone who has to clarifies their position on almost anything. They, in my eyes can say "I f#*#up, and was wrong when I said that, but to come out and say I really meant to say such and such is wrong.

Obama And Biden Never Clarified More Gaffs Than Can Be Remembered.
Or Responsibility For Policy Disasters Than Can Be Counted.
I Suppose That's A Good Thing...

I don't understand your comment. Are you saying that we do not want our politicians to say anything because they will or can always back down and retract what they say because there is too much anger about it, or are you saying that once you say something, you should always defend it even if it is wrong. An opinion is only an opinion, but right is right, and wrong is wrong. How you determine the difference, has to be based on something that makes sense. You can never do good by evil means. If an process is evil, no good will ever come of it. Who determines evil and good?

I am sorry if I was not clear in putting that post together, in this I was wrong. What I was trying to get across, was that I do not trust those who after they have made a statement to have someone, or do it themselves, clarify their statement. Did the good Dr. mean what he said about some guns in lager cities or not, or did he change his statement to make some of his base happy. I personally do not know the answer here and mostly never will. I an using the good Dr. only as a example, but people who do this, I think need a closer look to try to figure what they really stand for.

A mis-speak or a foot-in-mouth is one thing, but I agree.

If you change your position, you need to explain it. For example: I had an epiphany at the sight of my unborn daughter on ultrasound, and changed from pro-choice to pro-life.

The other reason to change an opinion would be to gather new information that proves to yourself that you were wrong before. For example: Hillary and Obama are now pro gay-marriage. (just kidding...)

I have no problem. The terminology was mine as, I recall from previous comments in the past, some folks were dubious of his 2nd Amendment views because he was a doctor and some doctors have been known to be very anti-gun. I could just as easily reworded the title to "Dr. Ben Carson's views on the 2nd amendment" and you wouldn't have raised a peep.
