The post office is a mess. Mainly because of mismanagement and congressional mandates. They need a five day work week. This B. S. about sabotaging the post office is pure crap. The post office volume is lowest since 1985 and half of that volume is junk mail. P.O. Has lost 78 billion since 2007. The Democrats solution; throw 25 billion at it. Anyone that thinks the P.O. Is ready to handle millions of b****ts is an i***t.

Trump just installed a former RNC chair to lead the board that oversees USPS -- now the agency faces allegations that it is being used to rig the 2020 e******n.

They are so lemming like dummies. See a broke down mail truck and think Trump sabotaged it. Raise hell about sorting machines being removed and don’t realize they were being replaced by new ones. I***ts.

You are right! they can't handle what they have now. My reg. Mail lady is GREAT, but she is older and I am afraid she will be retiring soon. The Sub, does not know her butt from a hole in the ground. She leaves my mail all over the country. One time she even sent a package back, and wrote on it no longer lives here . no forwarding address. When I called the Co. they told me what they had received back. I asked them to please send it again.
Then went to the Post Office and filed a complaint against her. They said she needs this job, I said then it is time she learned how to DO IT. It was about the 5th time I had been there complaining about my bills not being Delivered to me. So I wrote on my MAILBOX, " I STILL LIVE HERE!!
Anytime i see her I smile sweetly at her, and she just GROWLS at me, then I laugh. She is still there. She has been there about 7 yrs as sub. and she STILL cannot do her job!!

In the months before the 2020 e******n, Donald Trump and Washington lawmakers put the postal service under the control of a former Republican National Committee chairman who has also led the Senate GOP’s major super PAC, according to federal and state documents reviewed by TMI.

The Trump administration is facing allegations that it is deliberately sabotaging the United States Postal Service to try to prevent an expansion of v**e by mail and swing the 2020 e******n, after the president this week said he would block emergency funding for the agency. News reports also revealed that the postal service has begun removing mail sorting machines, prompting Democratic lawmakers to launch an investigation into the politicization of the agency and request an inspector general probe as well.

In the lead up to those developments, Trump nominee Mike Duncan was appointed to the USPS’s board of governors in 2018, and he was unanimously confirmed by the Senate in December 2019 to a full seven-year term. Duncan currently chairs the board.

In 2018 federal disclosure filings during his confirmation, Duncan listed himself as the current chairman of the Senate Leadership Fund -- a $100 million Senate-focused Republican super PAC whose 2020 e*******l goals could hinge on v**e-by-mail systems during the c****av***s p******c. Duncan was listed as a director of the Senate Leadership Fund in an annual report the super PAC filed in Virginia in August 2019. CNN reported in January 2020 that the Republican effort to retain the Senate includes “McConnell's super PAC, the Senate Leadership Fund, which is helmed by Mike Duncan, the former RNC chairman and a Kentuckian.”

“Outside of government service, he served as Chairman of the Republican National Committee from 2007 to 2009,” Duncan’s official USPS biography notes. “As RNC Chairman, he raised an unprecedented $428 million and grew the donor base to 1.8 million -- more donors than at any time in RNC history.”

The biography also says “Duncan was also President and CEO of the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity,” which represents the coal industry that Trump has sought to bolster.

As Jesse Lehrich of the advocacy group Accountable Tech pointed out, Duncan has also served on the board of American Crossroads, a super PAC with ties to the Senate Leadership Fund that has spent nearly $1.9 million this year to boost Trump’s re-e******n campaign.

Duncan posted a photo of himself with Donald Trump, Jr. in the fall of 2018.

Duncan’s Board Appointed A Trump Donor To Serve As Postmaster General

Duncan recently announced that the board of governors that he leads had appointed Trump donor Louis DeJoy as the new postmaster general.

The USPS website says the board “directs the exercise of the powers of the Postal Service, directs and controls its expenditures, reviews its practices, conducts long-range planning, approves officer compensation and sets policies on all postal matters.”

During his 2018 confirmation, Duncan issued a statement declaring: “I consider the Postal Service a public trust as every American citizen enjoys universal service. Referenced in the Constitution, the organization has served to bind America together for over two hundred years. The Postal Service is in daily contact with virtually every business and citizen. The local postal employees are the primary contact of most Americans with the federal government.”

Fedex, UPS Cash & A Promise To Recuse Because of Amazon Holdings

Duncan has myriad links to companies with a direct interest in the postal service policy he oversees.

For instance, Duncan’s 2018 Senate disclosure documents said he was currently on the executive committee of the Republican Party of Kentucky and serves as chairman of the party’s Budget Committee, since 1992 and 1996, respectively.

Package delivery company United Parcel Service’s political action committee contributed $53,000 to McConnell and the Republican Party of Kentucky since 2003. FedEx Chairman Fred Smith and his wife have contributed $56,000 to McConnell and the state Republican Party, including $30,000 since Duncan’s confirmation in late 2019.

In his statement to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Duncan wrote that he had been “advised that it is the Postal Service's position that an appearance of impropriety may be created by my holding any financial interests in its competitors,” including Amazon. As a result, Duncan pledged to divest his Amazon holdings, which he said he had acquired through a “profit sharing plan.”

Andrew Perez and Walker Bragman contributed to this story. This story has been updated to include mention of Duncan’s role with American Crossroads.

Any valid or valuable thoughts on that ?

Must be a rural carrier. They are different from regular city carriers for some reason. My daughter has the same problem consistently, and I see her carrier every morning.
Of course with the union, it's almost impossible to get fired for poor performance.

I've seen more make you shake your head stuff there than anyplace I've ever been.

I know why they're broke. It's because they're stupid.

Just my opinion.

Still unfounded allegations snowflake. Says they are facing allegations. I know you’re a dumb progressive and all but allegations don’t mean guilt. Here’s another factoid loser; presidents make political appointments all the time. A lot of time those appointments go to friends or donors. They all do it.

Stop the BS. Leaves your mail all over the country? Perhaps a typo, maybe you meant county? Soon you'll have TMS (trump mail system), see where your mail is left then & how much you like it.

There are lots of reasons the USPS is a mess! That is one reason Trump is attempting new management and methods to help remedy the problems! Every P**********l administration doles out appointee jobs to their contributors, nothing new there, Trump has actually made fewer that either Obama or Bush before him!

The USPS has a difficult pension system to fulfill, which takes up a much larger share of their earnings then other like organizations. In addition there are some International agreements which unfairly charge the USPS for e-packet mail subsidies that Trump is trying to end. Yes, it would help if it operated on a 5-day week schedule like other businesses! That solution has been proposed for years & ALWAYS rejected!!

An all so-called "Mail-in-B****t" E******N is NOT FEASIBLE for lots of reasons, but one is that the USPS would have difficulty handling that volume of mail in a shorten reasonable time frame!

The Democrats SOLUTION to EVERY PROBLEM is to just THROW MORE MONEY at it, they NEVER EVEN LOOK for other solutions, it requires too much thinking and HARD WORK!!

The difficult pension problem was created by the republipigs in an effort to cause the post office to file bankruptcy, in which case the vulture capitalism would take it over, skin out out the pension money, fire half the people, take out a bunch of loans to pay for their vulture services.
Sell off portions to UPS, FEDEX, Close rural routes and farm out for half pay.
Take everything not nailed down, pat themselves on the back for a job well done.
Walk out of the smoke and ruins with their pockets bulging with cash.
What?
