When it comes to science Americans are the dumbest. Just watch Jeopardy on TV and you will see it.

Bahmer, what an eye opener. My only opposition to all this, shall we call it “crap”, has been the birds and the ugliness of it. Now, I can see clearly, it’s hazardous to the world’s future. Wild life and birds were put here by the Almighty God for a purpose. They should be protected as well as other life on the planet. We’ve lived with Electricity, Gasoline, Natural gas, etc. for more than a hundred years, why not continue?

But the Enviro-f*****ts want Green, Green, GREEN! Science be damned. And they call everyone deniers who presents real facts about their boondoggle.

You make a good point with this video. Wind blades do present a danger for birds. I think that large screens surrounding these wing blades could solve this problem at the cost of some effect. Im pretty sure that lots of birds die from crashing into skyscrapers also. I think that if we are worried about song birds, we should put a hunting season on feral cats. Solar panels also create a problem.
The use of oil based chemicals is worse for all living things, not just birds. Given time and R&D, I'm certain that these problems will be solved. The temperature of the atmosphere is rising at record speed. The time for reversal of this problem is running out.

I've been aware of this, the environmental damage of solar and wind energy for some time. Just showed it in a different light and more data. I'm for the limited use of these when they can be proven non damaging. Unfortunately we end up with the recycling aspect and it is worse then any of us imagine.

That being said, just wondering on the wind energy level and hitting birds, large birds and bats. While the large birds are mostly just cruising along looking for food running around below, the eyes are not looking left and right. Whoop and they are hit from the side by something going at a high rate of speed. I just checked. It can get up to 180 mph but mostly half or so. Imagine walking across the road and getting hit by that blade at even 100 mph. So, what I'm wondering is if wind powered sound devices (large whistles) could be attached to the blades or actually built into the blades to create a noise the would scare off the birds and bats. How loud that would be is something that would take some study. But wouldn't it be possible. Just one thought on helping the wind turbines be less destructive.

Logically Right

Every solution has unintended and unforseen consequences. Nuclear is still a good option if you want to eliminate carbon emissions. Once we figure out what to do with the waste it will be easy peasy.

May I suggest a used nuclear dump in Washington D.C. in an open pit and maybe that will cause the perpetual politicians to either get out before becoming contaminated. Or maybe it will cause them to shorten their stay on earth which in turn will cause their damage to our Constitution to be less.

Why not off-shore? They do it with oil, and those rigs are HUGE. Put the blades on hinges and fold 'em down in a storm.
Solar panels on barges... either tow them in, or build them to ride out a storm.
Over-simple, but what do you want for two cents?

Buldings don't move. Maybe you mean the windows which reflect the sky?

Feral cats? My wife and I take them in, they make excellent pets and are fiercely loyal. Never had a cat k**l for you I guess. You want to k**l them? You'll have to go through me!

Are you aware that at one time in the past the south pole was covered in trees, ferns, and big animals? Do you know that today in the summer at the south pole in mid-summer at noon the temperate is -20 below F. on a warm day?

One more thing, one blade on generator is 96 feet? ONE blade, there are 3 blades! Put a screen around it? LOL LOL LOL
