You have a serious TDS problem. I highly recommend you deal with that before you go soliciting for people to cry with you for people who are just dying of a seasonal flu. Minn Post...interview with health experts from U of M..

Even as the death toll from C****-** climbs, there are people out there claiming the threat of the novel v***s is being exaggerated and that it’s really no worse than a bad flu.

While it’s true that both are caused by v***ses that are respiratory in nature and both have the potential to cause symptoms like coughs and fevers, it’s becoming increasingly clear they are not all that similar.

Their differences start with the packaging the v***ses come in, and they continue through the way they attack people’s i****e s****ms, even onto how deadly they are. Here’s a look at how they’re different and why.

They’re caused by different types of v***ses

Influenza and c****av***s are two different families of v***ses. While they both are made up of RNA (some diseases’ genetic material is DNA), the protein layers that surround the RNA, causing the immune response, are different in the two pathogens.

Influenza’s shell features hemagglutinin and neuraminidase proteins. C****av***ses get their name from the glycoprotein spikes that surround them, giving them a crown-like appearance under magnification. Those different surface proteins interact differently with human cells.

The flu has been around for a long time, and we know a lot about it

Historians say the flu may date back millennia. Some of the first written descriptions of the v***s are thought to date back to Hippocrates, around 410 BCE.

The influenza v***s itself was identified in 1933, so people have had a long time to figure out how the flu works. We know when it’s likely to hit each year, and we know who’s more susceptible to severe complications.

“We know a lot about the flu. It’s got seasonality. We know what time of year it hits. We know that pregnant women, older people and young kids are at particularly high risk,” said Dr. David Ingbar, a professor of medicine, the director of the pulmonary, allergy, critical care and sleep division at the University of Minnesota’s Medical School and Executive Director of the Center for Lung and Science Health.

One of the numbers underpinning policy discussions about C****-** is something called an R0. Pronounced “R-naught,” this number refers to how many other people, on average, a person with a given v***s will infect.

For seasonal influenza, the R0 is thought to be between 0.9 and 2.1, meaning the average infected person will infect one or two others. The Minnesota C****-** model currently predicts an R0 of 3.87, meaning the average infected person infects about 3.9 others. That means C****-** is more infectious than the flu.

Flu also has a shorter incubation period than C****-**. It usually between one and four days for someone infected with the flu to show symptoms. With C****-**, the incubation period may be up to 14 days, making it more likely people will spread the v***s before they show symptoms.

C****-** is more deadly

It’s been tough for researchers to get a handle on the death rate of C****-**, partly because so many people seem to be getting it without showing symptoms.

Early estimates in China put the death rate at around 3 percent. Recent research put the mortality rate in the U.S. around 1.3 percent, or a little over one in 100 infections.

That might not seem terribly high, but it’s much higher than a seasonal flu, which typically sees death rates around 0.10 percent, or one in 1,000 infections.

That suggests C****-** is about 10 times more fatal than a seasonal flu.

In Minnesota, there have been 683 confirmed deaths due to C****-** as of Friday morning. That’s four times higher than the number of people — 153 — believed to have died of flu so far this flu season. It’s one-third higher than the number of people who died of flu in 2017-18, a particularly deadly year when A H3 was prevalent, but Minnesota is believed to have yet seen the peak of C****-** cases and deaths.

While C****-** is more deadly than influenza, people shouldn’t downplay the dangers of the flu, Ingbar said.

Do you realize that when you go grocery shopping and you buy a loaf of bread, that loaf has been touched by quite a few people...in the factory, in the truck from the factory, when delivering the loaf to the store, when the clerk puts it on the shelf, when other people come by and pick up or touch the loaf, when you buy it, when the cashier checks it out, when the bagger bags it and when it gets to your home and everybody that lives there touches it.

And that's just a loaf of bread.

Why aren't there millions (billions?) of people dead from this k**ler disease if so many people are involved touching the things we buy if C-19 is so widespread and deadly?

Because it is a h**x. The latest trickery by the Dems, backed by people like Soros, the Clintons, Obamas and who knows what other people from around the world, who want this "crisis" to stay alive so they can push v****g by mail....and we all know how much fraud will (not "can") happen with that! It's amazing that Dems became so "outraged" when they thought Trump was rigging the 2016 e******n, when they are trying anything and anything - wh**ever they can think of - to sway the 2020 e******n!!

The more the Dems try to sway this e******n, the more it becomes obvious to everyone that they are trying to do so. If it weren't such a serious matter, it would almost be funny.

Americans are not stupid. They are not buying this h**x kool-aid. They didn't buy Hillary's crap in 2016, and they're not buying it AGAIN now.

That right there is a very sad thing. I recommend you go to the doctor with a woman who is pregnant and look at an ultrasound of a baby living inside her womb. There is a heartbeat. There is a head and arms and legs...and the baby is moving around inside the womb all by itself. You can see that when the woman is pregnant for only two months. Babies can be born as early as six months and up to nine months. Human women decide to k**l babies at all states of the pregnancy. When some pregnancies are terminated, the babies are still alive when removed from the womb, and are left to die on their own.

If that doesn't make you feel sad, then you must be a very cold-hearted person, who is in denial of what a******n really is.

Thank you Permafrost for your reply to the posts by emilyD and I concerning the daily death count of human babies murdered by a******n as opposed to the daily death count of those who die of c***d.

The question was asked by Biker regarding the rates of death from non-c***d causes compared to the death rate from c***d. This of course pushed my pro-life button.

It is very rare for a pro- choice person to reply to a post such as mine so I welcome your answer and find it very interesting. I've never heard the pro-a******n view that you declared, that a pre-born baby is not actually alive. We've heard it called a fetus (Latin for tiny baby), a clump of cells, a pregnancy, a mistake, etc. But I've never heard the view that God had not given life to the unwanted baby.

Do you believe that a pre-born baby with a beating heart, kicking, thumb sucking, eyes blinking, growing in the pattern dictated by its unique DNA, is actually not alive until what...it breathes air? Is given a name? Has a birth certificate?

Or is your belief in the nonliving pre-born a Calvinist interpretation of pre-destination? That since this baby is destined to be k**led, God chooses to not give the baby life in the first place?

Frankly Permafrost I am surprised at the coldness of your belief. Permafrost indeed.

You also take it upon yourself to decide that i support A******ns.. I do not.. they should be only a last resort and much deliberation needs to be done first..

But I do strongly believe that not I nor you nor anyone other then the mother and possible input from a father has any right at all to insist that any person make a decision as someone else insists she make..

It is the womans right and not at all any right of yours or mine to make this decision..

We can all find many verses in the Bible to support our stand, it is what we choose and I have come to choose this particular stance..
