What does this actually say: Republicans have said that the $600 unemployment benefit was a disincentive to return to work.

If someone said that to you after you lost your job and have tirelessly looked for alternative work with zero results because so many businesses are closed and so many are unemployed, and you got the suggestion from the GOP that you had no p***e or work ethic, would rather sit on your bum and eat Twinkies, with hundreds of thousands other out of work people feeling the same. What would you say?

The GOP's opinion of Americans who fall on hard times, often through no fault of their own, like an industry failing, are really just bottom-feeders looking for a free ride. Listen to Reagan and many Republicans over the decades on the topic of Welfare: it is a disgrace, an insult to the spirit of the American People. And research over five decades proves that view to be wrong by the GOP; almost all want the dignity of work over benefits and earnestly strive to achieve that existence. Do not object until you google this GOP opinion.

I must agree with you about this Congress. But a lot of people would prefer to be free and live on $600.00.

I might add the confusion that seems to be maintained is the real problem “ an economic predicament “
Is actually a Moral predicament.
They Push the moral predicament profusely.
It’s not an economic problem it’s because they’re just lazy worthless and weak.
Spoken from the high ground of “ high expectations, for others to live up to!”

And the GOP needs to start thinking about people...which begs the question...if you don't think about the welfare of others how are you going to get them to v**e for you?

Interestingly, the federal unemployment benefit ended last week, and several people I know were told, out of the blue, to come back to work this week, albeit only half-time. So, some form of assistance is needed for these people to supplement their educed hours and pay.

But the democrats "care" about people's welfare so much they want to leave everything shut down and pretend that government can take care of everyone when its broke making long term recovery even more difficult. They will blather on about saving lives while applauding k*****g the innocent over 2000 a day for convenience.

Democrats want people dependent on government - all for v**es. Sorry to burst your malevolent little bubble but they're no better than the GOP.

Where is that money coming from?

If I were an American I'd be concerned about the trend of both parties spending money they don't have...

That $600/wk will provide more money that many of the recipients earn in their jobs. So, that will motivate them to stay at home for a lock down, rather than going back to work.

The purpose of the democrat Congress is buying v**es with this $600/wk, and at the same time require them to stay home and destroy the economy further. So they have something to blame on president Trump. Therefore that will attract people to v**e for Joe Biden. It is a democrat political ploy.
