That wasn't your question. B****s, and other minorities, have received preferential treatment in hiring and academic admissions. When you test to get a job or into a school, it should go to who scored the highest. It is unfair to those who scored well enough for the position, but can't get it because it is reserved for a minority. It is also unfair to the minority that gets the position on several levels. One, they could be pushed into a position that they really aren't qualified for and that sets them up for failure. Two, it tells the minority candidate that they can't get the position because they aren't qualified and unless someone makes an exception and gives it to them, they'll never get it. Three, even if the minority candidate scores high enough to qualify, or even has the highest score, the perception will be that they only got the position because they were a minority, which is unfair for them.
If you go back to before the Civil War, Southern free b****s had successful businesses and were respected members of the community. That wasn't necessarily the case for Northern free b****s.
