Both parties are responsible for this debacle of government. What do we do about it, especially with our current deep d******eness? I think both parties stoke our divisions to avert our attention from them and keep us per-occupied with partisanship over country, hoping to secure re-e******n. Sleight-of-hand.

I really do get why Trump was chosen by v**ers. He was way outside the lines of being just another politician. His bombastic and erratic words and actions were a sort of soothing relief from the smarmy empty promises of his opponents, all entrenched in what most saw as the Swamp. He helped to Revitalize the possibility of real change: we were going to get a president that was above the Washington games and lies. A straight-shooter. So I see why many cannot let go of that tantalizing hope, that promise of change despite everything he has done. Where else to look? They are still trusting their dire hope over reality.

So the topic is not my opinion on this question but what do we do about cleaning up Washington? Suggestions as to how we can, as citizens, turn this mess around? We all want the same thing: elected representatives to put country and us first.
