Thank you for responding to my posted topic. Occasionally I question whether I have become radioactive, because lately I have posted some new topics, nobody responded, and then a day or so later I see the same subject posted, and everybody and his brother have joined in on both sides.

So tell me, if these poor people had actually flown a Confederate F**g in front of their establishment, would you have given them grief ? I would not, because this is still America. I don't even bother those who put up Biden signs in their yards, because again this is still America.

That is a good question.. I think I have seen a confederate f**g flying or displayed but not sure when.. was not an issue to me at that time.. never would expect now days..

Would I make a fuss? that is the question...In a yard, do not think so.. in front of some establishment?? Perhaps if I was intending to use it. as a restaurant or a biz I needed to buy from.. more likely I would rant at my long suffering wife and pledge to never go near the place for such foolishness..

As far as expecting stuff like this.. I also would not have expected N**i displayed. yet last week we had those 2 wearing masks with swastikas on them and yelling insults at everyone who jeered them.

That was in a Walmart in Minnesota.. did you miss it??

BTW, I read nearly all your posts.. Lately I have not been responding much.. seems I get some people upset.. as I am also.. so a bit of other stuff is a good idea.. and weather was cool for several days. that hot muggy stuff is hard on us old fartacus..

I was out fishing today. My brother has a boat and took his wife, my wife, her cousin, and me. Just catch and release pan fish, but it was a good day. The heat here in the east letup a little. We had a nice breeze. When I go out normally, all I have are kayaks and a canoe. We also got his old boat up to 38 mph, which for that boat with 5 people was pretty good.

To get back to fishing, my wife got to catch the first fish ever in her life. I had to give her a fast lesson on spinner reel casting, because she insisted that if she didn't do everything it didn't count. Of course that still meant I had to bait her hook.

I notice that, like many uninformed Liberals, you use the word "T*****r" in relation to the Southern states that legally seceded from the Union in 1861. I have had a standing bet for over a year that you Liberals cannot find one place in the US Constitution or in US law as it existed in 1861 that says secession is prohibited or illegal. So far I have had three or four takers and no winners. Want to put your money where your mouth is? Show me where in US law or the Constitution as it existed in 1861 that secession was illegal. I can show you where four of the original thirteen states ratified the Constitution with a written reservation of a right to secede at their own discretion. They were accepted as states anyway. You cannot show me where surrender of a right to secede was a condition of statehood for any of the original states, or any state accepted into the Union between 1790 and 1861.
Acceptance of the codicil those four states included constitutes agreement with their validity. Look it up, it's found in a book called The Law of Fraudulent T***sactions. written by a law professor and practicing attorney who specializes in contract law. The time to object to secession was in 1788-1790, NOT seventy years later.
Amuse me. I don't think anything can beat Texas v White 1869 which one enterprising young soul who didn't seem to realize that a court case filed and decided 8 years after the date specified does not count, especially a case decided by a majority of Lincoln nominees confirmed without a single Southern v**e, and who tried to use the defunct Articles of Confederation as a source. The Articles, (replaced by the Constitution) make no such claim. However, if the Articles had been in force, the very existence of the SCOTUS that decided the case was in violation of those same Articles.
Talk about bias and cynicism......

Buzk**l, the act of succession, may not meet your idea of treason.. but to me what makes treason a slam dunk is the act of attacking troops, towns and cities of the United States of America..

Fighting , trying to k**l our troops makes any person guilty of treason..

today, we may settle their hash with a drone attack.. 150 years ago, years of fighting, new stratagy which was still used in the first world war and the greatest number of american death in any war..

All caused for the love of s***ery by the ruling southern class..

while the ordinary man fought because the war came to them. the money crowd was all about s***ery and money.. written into nearly all the documents of succession lies the proof of what the group was concerned about and it was s***ery not succession..

I made my own Kayak years ago.. a company called Folbot.. they may still be in business.. mine lasted for many years and was still good when a darn horse stepped on it and busted the cover and the frame.. done deal..

Liberals like to talk about evolving. Here is how I evolved. I grew up in a city and moved to a semi rural area while a senior in high school. My siblings and I made fun of the local yokels for how they spoke and their rather quaint customs. After almost 5 decades out of the city, I now look down on city people. I now speak like the people I used to make fun of.

I also used to make fun of southern people. They talk even funnier than the rural folk I live with. Then I did a little traveling in the South. Some of nicest people I ever met were in the South. Add in the fact that Liberals are always blasting the South, Southerners look better and better all the time to me.

All of what you said is true. When I was in my twenties I got a 40 acre farm in Canandaigua, New York and commuted to Rochester every day for work. I loved it. Shoot guns, bows etc in my back yard with the music loud. The people in Canandaigua were country folk and they all had each other's back. Not like that in the city. Those country folks were great Americans.

This is a coincidence. I owned two folbots over the years. I had a non folding rigid wood and vinyl single seater for many years. The knock on it was the weight. I really wish I had gotten the folding version that you could break down and store in bags, but at the time I was shy about having to put it together every time I took it out.

Unfortunately I had to store it outside and after about 15 years the front end rotted on me and I had to scrap it. Then I had a plastic two seater Folbot that was great. My wife and I could take one kid out at a time with it. Because it was plastic, storing it outside was good. Unfortunately the canoe rack I rented at my local park had crime problems. The kayak did not give me much chain options compared to a canoe. One night someone cut the light chain and stole it.

It was not worth much in money. I doubt the thief got much for it. It was worth a lot to me, because cheap two seaters are hard to come by. My fleet now consists of two single seat Kayaks, stored at home, and a canoe built like a bath tub, which I can use thick chains on and I doubt anyone would steal it anyway. It paddles like a bath tub too, but I prefer fishing out of it because of the room.

I also had a river kayak. A black Perception Mirage.plastic beauty. My baby. I took lessons, but was never as good as the river guides. I could not always roll it, and you have to be able to do that if you want to call yourself a kayaker. I did roll it successfully once in January and got the grand daddy of all brain freezes. When I got too old and fat to use it on the river, I donated it to the boy scouts. It was like giving away one of my children.

She is a city girl. And she ain't aging well. She never had much interest in those things. Since my two seater kayak was stolen, getting her out in small boats is hard. My brother has a 15 foot power boat and she was always whining she wanted to go for a boat ride. His wife is not well, so he doesn't get out a lot. Last year he took her out and while we fished she showed no interest.

This time when he took us out she suddenly wanted to catch a fish. All we had along was spinner reels and it took all of my patience to teach her and I still failed. My brother finally modified my technique so she finally cast right. Then he was catching all the fish and none of the rest of had a bite. Finally she hooked one and reeled it in. Her cousin took a picture for posterity, then she was done and the rest of us could finally enjoy our fishing. Life is tough, marriage is harder.
