For all of you who think that lockdowns and school closings have saved lives.... well, look beyond your nose and consider the following (excerpts only):

1. "UN officials have pointed to a study that reveals lockdowns and school closures are doing more harm to children than the c****av***s itself, with many more deaths expected to come from the reaction to the outbreak, rather than the p******c itself."

2. "The officials pointed to a study published in The Lancet that notes “physical distancing, school closures, trade restrictions, and country lockdowns” are worsening global child malnutrition.

The study estimates that an extra 6.7 million children will be at risk, and that lockdowns and other c****av***s responses could lead to more than 10,000 additional child deaths every month.

The UNICEF officials noted that would mean 128,000 more deaths among children within the next year."

3. "The study complies research from the Washington-based International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

It concludes that shut down strategies could lead to “life-long impacts on education, chronic disease risks, and overall human capital formation,” in addition to “intergenerational consequences for child growth and development.”

4. "The German government has concluded that the impact of the country’s lockdown could end up k*****g more people than the c****av***s due to victims of other serious illnesses not receiving treatment.

As we have previously highlighted, in the UK there have already been up to 10,000 excess deaths as a result of seriously ill people avoiding hospitals due to C****-** or not having their hospital treatments cancelled."

For all of you who think that lockdowns and school... (show quote)

Children were starving to death before C***d. Child malnutrition has been a huge problem facing leaders of all nations. Democratic budget proposals always call for more funding. Republican budgets continue to block increasing food assistance. The $2.2 Trillion CARES Act signed by Trump in March lacked any SNAP benefit increases. I guess Trump cares little about feeding kids.

I see you like to change the subject from the issue of the study which "estimates that an extra 6.7 million children will be at risk, and that lockdowns and other c****av***s responses could lead to more than 10,000 additional child deaths every month" to Trumps budget lacking SNAP benefits!

Nice try! Now how about a kind word on the President's efforts to re-open the schools vs. many on the left who feel that the lockdown's need to continue.

The president's efforts to re-open schools is the same as his demands to re-open the economy before states were ready to comply with his own administration's guidelines for safety. States that opened early on orders from dopey Trump are now seeing much higher numbers of c****av***s infections and deaths. Demanding the re-opening of schools without safety measures in place has nothing to do with Trump's desire to help kids, and everything to do with convincing his hapless followers that the expert advice from his own medical teams and professional educators is all f**e news. Are you one of those unfortunate Trumpsters? Time is running out. Recent polls show his carnival con game is not working.
