A poll showed that conservatives were afraid to express their opinions while liberals weren't. That has always been the case. William F. Buckley once said that liberal intolerance wasn't just hostility to other opinions but astonishment that there even was another opinion. The belief was that it was impossible for someone to be simultaneously intelligent & conservative.

When I was at NYU, 1962-1967, the assumption was just that; if you were intelligent you were liberal. We had Viet-Nam War teach-ins. Of course, the speakers were overwhelmingly anti.

They had tables at each for those in attendance to send their congressmen and senators letters against it. I tried to send one advising mine to bomb Hanoi and mine Hai-Phong. A woman came charging around the table at me, with assault on her face! (FYI – I have changed my views about foreign intervention, since then.)

In 1980, as e******n day dawned, the pundits were all talking about a squeaker that would could go into Wednesday before we would know the results. All the polls had it as a dead heat between incumbent Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, with a large bloc of undecideds.

As is turned out, it was a landslide for Reagan. Just seven(?) states went for Carter. Carter conceded by 8 PM. Later, David Brinkley, at a roundtable groused, “What happened?”

What had happened was that the undecideds broke, heavily, for Reagan. Many admitted that they were hesitant to reveal that they favored Reagan.

As it turned out, Carter’s personal pollsters had given him the last minute bad news the night before. He’d had a staff meeting and when he spoke about the closeness of the race, he broke into tears. The staff immediately knew that something was up.

That’s the take home lesson on this. People are even more afraid today to admit they plan to v**e for Trump. This is especially as evidenced by the f**grant assaults by A****a & Black L***s M****r on conservatives.

This will come back to bite the Democrats in the ass. They’ll come to regret being nice to them.

That’s exactly why Biden looks so good. We all know that a v**e for Biden is a v**e to put Obama back in office. What the hey!

You may be embarrassed but you should be just for being who you are. You're a disgrace to civilized discourse. You shouldn't be allowed in this or any other venue for rational discussion.

It is irresponsible to level a charge like that. I'm a physician and there is little in the way of consensus as to what would have been the best approach. Further, it was the Democrats with their reckless impeachment that tied up attention. They dismissed it until it was obvious the trial was going down.

Trump new the Senate would cover it up for him.
There was no distraction he wasted months saying things like its another democrat h**x,
We have 5 cases in a week we will have none, it will just go away, most people it will be like a cold . Just a few weeks ago he wanted to slow testing down because it created more cases. I live in AZ you can Waite all day in your car for a test and be turned away.
And if you do get tested it will be 14 or more days before you get the results, I'm not a Dr but I would say that method of testing was a waist of time.
He stoped travel to China but let travel from Italy,European countries and Asia in.
Incompetent, no other word to describe it.

You are correct that you're no doctor but I am and, FYI, the vast majority of C****-** infections are minor. And, FYI, there is a bounty given for diagnosis of deaths due to C***d.

He was 100% right to limit travel just to China at the start. That's where it began, in case you don't know it.

Why is the US the world leader in covd cases ,and why is over 150,000 dead mild I know people that got it one spent 19 days in hospital and Is now home but she will never be fully recovered.
Why does the vice president speek to kids in a class room and remove his mask what's the message he's sending. For your information Italy Spain and Korea were being severely decimated by the v***s and were still allowed to travel here.

It is interesting that every other nation in the world has handled it better than Trumps America.
