What police? Aren't they being defunded, paid less and/or laid off?? I can't imagine why anyone would want to be a policeman or policewoman in today's violent anti-police climate, anyway, or go to a rally and try to protect people who want to k**l them.

Over 100 Police Agencies Withdraw From Agreements to Guard Democratic National Convention
Posted Wednesday, July 29, 2020 | By Outside Contributor

At least 100 police agencies are pulling out of agreements to send personnel to next month’s Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Milwaukee, partly over concerns that officers will be unable to use tear gas to control crowds under a recent directive.

The law enforcement agencies in Wisconsin and across the country who are set to withdraw from the security agreements had previously said they will send officers to bolster security at the DNC, which will run from Aug. 17-20 at the Wisconsin Center in downtown Milwaukee.

The move follows an order from the Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission last week, which directed Chief Alfonso Morales to revise the police department procedures—including prohibiting the use of tear gas and pepper spray. The order threatens Morales’s termination if he fails to comply “fully and promptly.”

The order came amid intense scrutiny of police tactics at protests and r**ts in Portland, Oregon, and elsewhere in recent weeks, following the death of G****e F***d in Minneapolis in late May.

Morales announced the news of the agencies’ withdrawal in an interview with WTMJ-TV, citing concerns over the order prohibiting the police use of pepper spray and tear gas at demonstrations. He didn’t elaborate on which law enforcement agencies plan to pull out.

The convention has been scaled down to a mostly virtual event due to the CCP (Chinese C*******t Party) v***s p******c, with about 300 people expected to attend in person. Most of the speeches will be delivered online from other locations, though former Vice President Joe Biden has said he will be in Milwaukee to accept the nomination. Despite the event’s smaller scale, police are preparing for potentially large protests in and around the venue.

The Epoch Times reached out to the Milwaukee police oversight commission, the Milwaukee Police Department, and the convention for comment, but did not immediately hear back.

Fond du Lac Police Chief William Lamb, who chairs the Wisconsin Police Executive Group, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he expects other Wisconsin police agencies to withdraw from the security agreements.

“We respect the Fire and Police Commission’s decision. But in this particular case, we strongly disagree with the actions they’ve taken,” Lamb said.

He said he was concerned that the safety of the public and police officers could be c*********d.

“We believe in removing those tools, the use of chemical irritants or pepper spray, from the available resources that the law enforcement officers would have at their disposal if protests become non-peaceful would severely compromise the safety of the public and also the safety of the law enforcement officers who would be assigned to protect the DNC,” he added.

Other police departments, such as the Madison Police Department which originally committed to providing 100 officers to Milwaukee, decided to pull out over CCP v***s concerns.

According to the Wisconsin State Journal, the department notified Milwaukee early this month that “an accelerating C****-** p******c coupled with ongoing protests in Madison” had strained its resources, making it impossible to commit resources to the convention.

Are the police really dumb enough not to know that there will not be a convention? Or is this just another right wing feel good exercise?

So your point is that the police need to follow a higher standard than er, ,,,, say Democrat Mayors and governors, who failed to protect their citizens and the property of those citizens, by telling their police to stand down during the r**ts ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I don't think so. These Democrat/socialist, violent r****rs and l**ters know what they are doing. They want to see these cities destroyed. The "fundamental t***sformation" of America into a socialist nightmare can then be forced on this country. It isn't ignorance by those in charge, it is evil intent

That's a possibility, but there's also what's known as "survivor's guilt". My ex-husband and I used to go to a pizza parlor in downtown San Rafael because of its pipe organ. One of the regulars was an ex-cop, who was drunk almost every time we saw him. Apparently, he participated in a shoot-out between the police and an armed robber who was trying to hold up a bank. He was ordered to lay down his gun and surrender, but he opened fire on the cops instead and, of course, they opened fire back. When it was proven that the fatal bullet came from this particular cop's gun, he became a total basket case! The more he drank, the more he would break down, crying and blubbering about how terrible he felt about k*****g another human being and how he wished that he'd been the one who was k**led instead. During his ramblings, he said that he lost his job because he could no longer keep it together and his wife left him because he couldn't support her anymore. I'm not sure, but I think he was hoping to drink himself to death.

Yep!
Police Refuse To Protect Democrats In Stunning Announcement
https://www.nationalinsiders.com/author/admin/

Since early Summer, numerous Democrats have been calling for the defunding of police departments. Mayors of major cities have already slashed police budgets or shut down anticrime units. Crime is surging, but Democrats don’t seem to care. Now, the DNC got some bad news as over 100 police agencies refuse to protect their convention.

Let’s be honest, shall we? Democrats really shot themselves in the foot when they embraced the defund the police movement. It is stupider than 2018’s “abolish ICE” move. At least that empty promise won them a few v**es. But this? No American in their right mind is about to support a party that wants to remove cops off the street.

As local Democrats slash PD budgets and prevent cops from stopping r**ts, Democrats in D.C. are just as bad. Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats in Congress have refused to openly condemn the movement. But it’s much worse with Joe Biden. The candidate for president has agreed to take funds from police departments and give it to other groups. And, he called police (men and women who protect our communities) “the enemy.”

So, the left shouldn’t be surprised that police aren’t thrilled to work with their party. But I doubt Democrats were expecting this to happen:

More than 100 law enforcement agencies have reportedly pulled out of security agreements to send personnel to help with security at the Democratic National Convention next month in part because they are concerned about recent efforts to limit law enforcement’s use of tear gas and pepper spray in responding to violent r**ts…

Waukesha Police Chief Daniel Thompson responded by indicating that his department would not be sending officers to event, saying, “I understand that use of chemical irritants and pepper spray is serious and those are to be used only when legally justified. But when you take that out of the continuum that doesn’t leave the officers much other than getting harmed or using deadly force and that’s not good for any officer or the public.” [Source: Daily Wire]

Talk about your chickens coming home to roost! Did Democrats really think they could demonize cops all day long—and expect them to show up to protect their convention?

And don’t be fooled, this isn’t about the pepper spray. Police agencies are using that as a sticking point, but the underlying sentiment is that Democrats don’t support cops. So, why should they risk their lives to protect their convention?

Does that sound petty or unprofessional to you? Think about what Democrats across the country have been doing. After the death of G****e F***d, Democrats and the media relentlessly attacked all police officers. The never let good cops be a part of the conversation. Democrats let peaceful protests turn into r**ts. They refused to let cops protect property and innocent lives.

As crime spread, Democrats announced they would be defunding police departments, making sure there would be fewer cops on the streets—and that cops would be less equipped to do their job. In Minneapolis, they v**ed to completely disband the police department. A city with the highest crime rate in the country might not have anyone to protect it soon.

Why should police agencies put their necks on the line, when this party does everything in their power to hurt them? This isn’t about “getting back” at Democrats. This is about letting the country know that what the Democrats propose will destroy our country. Police agencies couldn’t, in good conscience, support their convention, knowing what so many Democrats want to do.

It’s a matter of integrity for our police. They vowed to keep us safe. The Democrats want to disband them. Nobody can support such a suicidal platform.
