It’s scary as hell. I have strongly resisted calling the Trump administration f*****t until now, but they have crossed the line, sending mysterious federal paramilitary-style personnel who without authority are grabbing graffiti writers off the streets and stuffing them into vans, and doing who knows what with them. Surrender and you get beaten with clubs. They indiscriminately attacked protesters, journalists and legal observers. They shot one protester in the head with a rubber bullet, fracturing his skull. How long has been Trump been preparing this goon squad?

Donald Trump has revealed his true nature. What happened to state’s rights? If there are any real patriots among Trump followers, they should be as upset as I am. If they aren’t, then they will be counted with the Germans who remained silent when Hitler took over the country

The federal government should not have such authority, and I question whether they do. The Oregon Department of Justice[1] and the ACLU[2] say they don't and have gone to court to stop it.

Oregon Public Broadcasting reported:

According to DOJ spokeswoman Kristina Edmunson, the suit accuses the agencies of engaging “in unlawful law enforcement in violation of the civil rights of Oregon citizens by seizing and detaining them without probable cause.”

One federal trooper may face state charges for injuring a protester, if they can figure out who he is, since none of them had identification unlike real police.

Do you even know what Martial Law is? Do you really think president Trump should order military control of the government?? If anything, you should at least learn how to spell it, if you're going to advocate using it!

The c****av***s threatens the health of some people, and it may worsen the economy. But civilian government is adapting to the crisis. Courts remain open and operating, with modified procedures. None of the conditions used to justify martial law in the past are present today or are likely to arise. There is no need for the military to take over the government. The National Guard is called in to certain hot spots to calm things down there, but the whole country? Nope.

Rather than widespread chaos, the epicenter of daytime and nightly protests has largely been relegated to the city block housing the federal courthouse.
Some local journalists who have covered the protests here since the beginning have also observed an apparent broad brushing by law enforcement, who they say tend to lump all demonstrators -- including the overwhelming majority of peaceful protesters -- into one group of suspected criminals.
"The way that law enforcement and even public officials here have been talking about these protests is really in a sweeping, all-encompassing way, saying this whole crowd of people are committing a r**t or committing a crime as opposed to a number of them," said reporter Alex Zielinski of Portland Mercury in an interview with CNN. "So I think that's the way federal police are operating. They see anyone involved in these protests as someone who is committing a crime."
The protesters are not alone in their antipathy towards the federal government. Local elected officials in Portland have repeatedly called for the disbanding of Trump's federal cavalry so they can address the protests themselves.
"What they are doing is sharply escalating the situation," said Portland mayor Ted Wheeler in an interview Sunday with CNN's Jake Tapper. "Their presence is actually leading to more violence and more vandalism and it's not helping the situation at all. They're not wanted here."
Despite reality checks from those who have seen the Portland situation up close, Trump continues to use the city's ongoing protest movement for political gain.
