Delivered with such compassion and wit as to be easily palatable and yet also being quietly controversial. Many points to consider, high among them is suffering and accepting their fate in silent resignation. Would you? Did America in 1776?
For me, perhaps just for me, the very core of what the movie (and play) is saying is that Love overwhelms tradition. How? By the same nature of tradition: Love is God! The father is unchanging--but not by the rules, or traditions, we make, our understanding. He works uniquely within each of us. A father's personal love for his children who also honors God, is first, because God is love, and love rules supreme. We are always to act by the love of God. The church now and in my fifty year experience believes otherwise. They believe and press to make the point that their articles of faith determines who is a true Christian. Bless their hearts.

You don’t know the Church rumitoid. The Church is the body of believers whose Lord and Savior is Jesus Christ. Just because one claims to be Christian does not mean one is.
God laid out what we need to know and how to be saved in the bible. Not in a movie. There is only one holy book and it is NOT Fiddler on the Roof

Every time you are confronted with personally insulting someone you claim that it is not an insult, it is just your “truth” as you see it! For seven long years you have been accusing people of insulting and attacking you! They’re just revealing their Truths!

Good question and thank you so much for your persistent and time-consuming attention to me. Sweet. We all grow if true believers, which is often painful to our egos. After investigating the highly questionable inclusion of the Trinity into our faith, I saw that I was wrong to believe in it. Such belief is only problematic if we use it as a cornerstone to faith, then it is destructive. I find it now a "disputable matter" and a distraction from our devotion in thought and deed to Christ.
