My husband was making some other adjustments to the tractor so I went off to the local tractor store in search of blades. In a soft southern drawl, he replied "well, ma'am, a Yankee is one who comes to visit and then goes on back home, but a damn Yankee is one who comes and stays." I turned, recognizing the owner of the voice because he was the one with a twinkle in his eye, and told him I was going to sorely disappoint him because not only was I a damn Yankee, I was a stubborn one, and he had better get used to seeing me. I'm sure he took note of the twinkle in MY eye. :wink:
