Arizona Governor Decides To Shutdown Restaurants and Bars For An Additional Thirty Days

I have wondered if our elected officials have a one tract mind. Yes the testing in Arizona has shown a rise in cases and merits some action by the Governor.

My question is this. Why does he see the solution to slowing the spread of cases an extension of restaurant and bar shutdowns? These businesses just got through a six week shutdown.

As I drove around Scottsdale Arizona I observed signs on many businesses that are up for sale or lease! They didn’t make it.

Those businesses that just got through the last shutdown are now faced with another shutdown. I expect that more businesses are going to fail.

This past month has seen thousands of protestors take to the street in Phoenix and Scottsdale, many without masks. They roamed the streets for two weeks and now the cases are growing but they are held blameless because they are exercising their rights. When does one person’s or one group’s rights trump the rights of another person’s or another group’s rights? Why must it be the businesses having to pay the price to protect the rights of others, i.e., protestors, people at high risk?

Why couldn’t the Governor place a curfew on the protestors, require them to wear masks and enforce social distancing? As for the high risk group the Governor should encourage them to practice hygiene, wear masks, practice social distancing and avoid large gatherings.

Why can’t the businesses be allowed to be open for four of seven days with them being closed for three days? This action provides a more balanced approach to the problems with the c****av***s by providing a degree of protection to the public and protection of businesses.

It is wrong for our governors to shut down any business for extended periods of time! It is a sad day for business owners that are subject to Governors who have a targeted solution to the spread of the c****av***s.

You are so right! Patriots have got to take to the streets and to the city halls and protest when they believe they are the victims of government overreach. We cannot stand down while the entire economy is collapsing around us especially while elected officials only respond to the “squeaky wheel protestors!”
