Until now, what American gave a lot of thought to race. We could have someone purple living next door and they would only be recognized as our neighbor.

Some people on the OPP might think I'm posturing.

I felt the same way about Whitney Houston and I mourn her every time I hear one of her songs.

I tear up just writing about it!

When you're part of a team everyone is the same color. A team I played for, our colors were red, black and white. So that's what color we all were. If our opponent's colors were blue and white, they were the wrong color and of course we would do our best to beat them like a rented mule. Naturally, they had the same opinion as us. After the game, if we ran into each other at the bar we would sit together and argue who should be buying the drinks.
