I am sad to report that my smartest friends, one who works for the Gates Foundation, are too afraid to come out even for a couple of beers.

It sickens me, it truly does. They aren't 80 yoa and don't have other issues. They are simply afraid, and these are smart guys, too! They have PhD's in molecular biology. One did gov research on anti-vac's for bio weapons.

I would have never suspected that Americans could be so taken in by something like this.

Ironic isn't it, the smartest are afraid of it and the stupidest couldn't give a flip. And where did you choose to go have a beer? My wife and I have been out to eat with my son and his wife though there is no way in hell we would have gone to a bar...

If they are so afraid of Carona, tell them to try a PBR. American made and not in a clear glass bottle so a lot less chance of being a skunked beer. Tastes better also.

The smartest are the most fearful. They are the most terrified of it, all the while knowing that they are not an at risk group.

They KNOW they aren't a target of the v***s, and yet . . . .

I am becoming fully convinced that without a belief in a higher being, smart folk are the most fearful folk. SAD!!!!!!!

That is pretty odd. I told my friend who was on the verge of panicking about going to a grocery store that even if she DID get the v***s, the chances were incredibly good that she would recover from it - if she even knew she had it - would be about 98.5%. Those really are the odds!! She's only 48, and is very fit (runs in marathons and plays tennis, etc.) I told her this is not a plague, and it is not a death sentence. It is just a v***s like all the other v***ses that come and go every year. She finally did go with me to get some groceries at a small local store, and was surprised when she saw that most people there weren't even wearing masks any more. She's good now.

Huh? Why wouldn't they be a risk group? Intelligence doesn't give one immunity simply the ability to see what is dangerous and what isn't. That doesn't mean they couldn't contract the v***s. They have to eat so go to the store. They have to pay their bills so they have to work...and the more people who contract the v***s the higher the probability others will contract it too. So intelligence can be a buffer but it can't protect you, especially when a large percentage of the country is so lacking of it (intelligence) they are willing to pretend that such things as C***D aren't there. In that case stupid is stupid and you can only hold your breath and hope that someone finally decides to lead this country out of the mess that stupid led us in...

Having empathy isn't an apology. I never thought empathy would need to be explained and if you can't understand why one would have empathy for b***k A******ns, who have been singled out for decades by the police, then I don't think I can explain it to you. It's not an apology to stand next to someone whose race has been brutalized for the crime of being black. That you can't understand that...well, why is that???
