If you don't have a Gun, and even if you do, here's a way to Wreck someone's evil plans for you. Did you know this? I didn't. I never really thought of it before. I guess I can get rid of the baseball bat.
Wasp Spray -- A friend who is a receptionist in a church in a high risk area was concerned about someone coming into the office on Monday to rob them when they were counting the collection. She asked the local police department about using pepper spray and they recommended to her that she get a can of wasp spray instead.
The wasp spray, they told her, can shoot up to twenty feet away and is a lot more accurate, while with the pepper spray, they have to get too close to you and could overpower you. The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until they get to the hospital for an antidote. She keeps a can on her desk in the office and it doesn't attract attention from people like a can of pepper spray would. She also keeps one nearby at home for home protection. Thought this was interesting and might be of use.
On the heels of a break in and beating that left an elderly woman in Toledo dead, self defense experts have a tip that could save your life.
Val Glinka teaches self-defense to students at Sylvania Southview High School . For decades, he's suggested putting a can of wasp and hornet spray near your door or bed.
Glinka says, "This is better than anything I can teach them."
Glinka considers it inexpensive, easy to find, and more effective than mace or pepper spray. The cans typically shoot 20 feet; so if someone tries to break into your home, Glinka says "spray the culprit in the eyes". It's a tip he's given to students for decades.
It's also one he wants everyone to hear If you're looking for protection, Glinka says look to the spray. "That's going to give you a chance to call the police; maybe get out." Maybe even save a life.
Please share this with all the people who are precious to your life.
Did you also know that wasp spray will k**l a snake? And a mouse! It will! Good to know, huh? It will also k**l a wasp!!!
And best of all, immobilize a human.

First time I've seen this anywhere but for several years now I've kept a can in my car as a deterrent against 'road rage'.

Do you have a lot of "gun fights" in you neck of the woods..

this is more as bedside/home safety..

do not know anyone who uses it , but a spray of this would floor the most violent dude..

At 20 ft it would be effective in most safety situations..

So someone breaks into your house with a gun you want to battle him with wasp spray. Good luck to your family.

Tree, we seem to be pages apart on this..

I posted it a s interesting and also practicable for anyone not wishing to play the gun card.. and as I said in most home or mugging situations, it would be very effective..

depending on how eager the "bad guy" was to shoot you rather then only collect goods.

do you have a lot of people out gunning for you?

I live in a very safe place, even number of burglaries is low.. Home break ins.. do not recall ever hearing of one, but must have happened.. simply not on peoples worry list..

And while nearly everyone owns guns, not so many sleep with them..

Glasses, or a raised hand, will deflect your wasp spray, rendering it ineffective; not so with my .44!

You think so???? no way.. the stuff is potent.. as I posted long back in my earlier days I got a small dose of the stuff while on a roofing job.. nearly put me off the scaffold..

It is not a minor irritation...

that raised hand would do nothing at all and glasses even less.. it , along with other stuff, paralyzes the lungs for only an instant in my case, but it would be far worse with a dose to the person himself..

Look up and compare the wasp k*****g stuff to pepper spray, mace.. what ever and see if anyone has investigated the different results...

Some one told me after my event.. it k**ls wasps, can not be good for people.. watch out..

When my family doctor moved to a seedy neighborhood, I gave the front desk receptionist a can of wasp spray in case she was presented with a dumbass attack and had to defend herself in a no guns victim disarmament zone. I hope she never had to use it!
