Excellent rendition, though I don't think Jacko Jaczyk, whom I believe is the lead vocalist, compares to the late Greg Lake or to John Wetton -- though he does do an excellent job and I may also be a tad prejudiced. 😁

I just like good covers and try not to complicate it too much.

I'm a major die-hard fan of late 1960s through early 1980s ProgRock.

Yes, ELP, King Crimson, early Genesis (until Hackett and Gabriel were gone), Renaissance, the Moody Blues, Focus, Triumvirat, Asia, etc.

I couldn't find the post, so I looked them up on YouTube, listened to Castles of Transylvania. Good band, and that recording was 1973. Don't know how I missed them!

Some of their sound reminded me of a later Canadian ProgRock band called Mystery, some a little of a 70s British band called Druid. Good stuff, I moved "Transylvania" to my ProgRock file and will be listening to some of their other stuff.

Thanks!

Japanese, who'd'a thunk it?

That was the album! I dunno how I could have missed them either!

Of course...I missed Camel too. They've been around since '73.

Yeah, I've always liked Camel, good live performance in your link. Never saw them in concert, wish I had.

Of all the concerts I've been to, my favorite was probably a Yes concert at the Aladdin Theater in Las Vegas, August 1976, in which Renaissance opened for them. Yes, Renaissance and Focus have long been my 3 favorite bands, though none of them are together anymore in anything like their original form.

Renaissance was a ProgRock band fronted by an awesome female vocalist named Annie Haslam.

Super! This lady has pipes.

Dream Theater at the Warfield for me...although the first concert I ever went to was Kansas. I didn't know they were prog rock then.

I'm a big Dixie Dregs fan too.

Renaissance was originally formed by former Yardbirds members as a totally different kind of band, then they went through a 100% member and content rotation. Talk about pipes, this was the first piece they did with Annie aboard:

Evanescence is Amy Lee's band. She has a fantastic voice, lot of serious power there.

I don't think I've heard Nightwish, have to look them up.
