TexaCan Loc: Homeward Bound!

I watched a little bit of this on Fox a few minutes ago! He was sure upset and has every right to be! I’m afraid that it is going to get to the point that men and women will not want to be cops anymore! For those areas that are demanding to defund and reinvent their idea of law enforcement, I say, Let them! Let’s see how long it will take for the citizens to rise up and take their cities back from the i***ts!

When a few bad police act like thugs to minorities or anyone else, the police unions do defend them. They created the problem and seem reluctant to fix it. Somehow this problem MUST be fixed. Expecting the union bosses to do it is a bit like waiting for the fox to reform his attitude about chickens. Ain't gonna happen.
We are a unique nation in that regardless of race, color, creed, g****r, prior nationalities we are all equally American citizens. No other nation, until recently, could make that claim. Police brutality MUST stop . . . to ANYONE.

But here is the thing. The police union, as other unions, make it difficult to discipline or fire bad cops. Just as the Teachers' Union makes it impossible to get rid of awful teachers. The contract they have hamstrings the chief of police when it comes to taking action against over reaction or overly zealous policing. I am not in any way defending the thugs in A****a or the r****rs, or the calls to defund police, but what I am saying is that unions need to understand that if a cop needs and gets disciplined, that is not an act of h**e or even dislike, it is to encourage them to do their jobs. When I was a state employee, we had a union which ended up with the same kind of nonsense. Those people who did not wish to do their jobs well did not have to because the union protected them. The standards were low enough that no one had to work terribly hard to meet them, but the union made sure that an employee was promoted based only on seniority. Not many people went much further that they absolutely had to to keep their jobs. I worked hard because that was my work ethic from my parents, and family, and because I always wanted to give my best effort to the job. It did not hurt that I loved what I did, either, but I am saying-quit whining, when you are part of the problem, Mr Union. Prior to the Union coming in, production was up and morale was high. After, not so much. I do not think public employees need unions-most are covered under the Civil Service.
