I think a better question is, "what would their later generations of relatives lives be like living in Africa today (since all of the s***es are long since dead)"? But I do get your point, and agree with it. You and I have never owned s***es. No one alive today in the U.S. has ever owned a s***e and no one alive today in the U.S. has ever been a s***e. Hell, I have no idea if any of my ancestors were ever involved in s***ery or not.
