(UnitedVoice.com) – A glance at the media’s headlines following US Attorney General William Barr’s press conference on Monday showed they were very misleading. They would have one believe he completely dismissed President Trump’s accusation that former President Obama and Vice President Biden had nothing to do with the Russian H**x. Some of the top headlines include:
The New York Times – “Barr Dismisses Trump’s Claims that Russia Inquiry Was an Obama Plot”
Politico – “Barr Throws Cold Water on Trump’s ‘Obamagate’ Campaign”
The Los Angeles Times – “William Barr is Trying to Rewrite Reality, Not History”
However, those headlines, and many more like them, are not representative of what Barr said about the Russian investigation. As the liberal media often does, it took Barr out of context and put words in his mouth. So, what did Barr really say?
Barr Backed Trump Up
The Attorney General did not rebuke Trump as claimed by the media. What Barr did say is an abuse of power is a terrible thing. However, not all instances of abuse of power are necessarily a federal crime.
Prosecutors have to weigh criminal complaints carefully and decide if they have a factual case that can be proven to a jury beyond the shadow of a doubt. According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), there are specific steps and criteria that prosecutors consider before determining if charges will be filed. They must be careful not to paint someone as guilty, but facts must guide them.
In 2018, Barr appointed US Attorney John Durham to investigate the FBI’s counterintelligence operation against the Trump campaign. On Monday, Barr specifically said he believed law enforcement and intelligence officials “unfairly” targeted Trump in the Russian investigation. He called it a “grave injustice” that was “unprecedented in American History.” The AG further said what happened to Trump can never be allowed to happen again.
Taking it a step further, Barr said:
“The law enforcement and intelligence apparatus of this country were involved in advancing a f**e and utterly baseless Russian collusion narrative against the president. The proper investigative and prosecutorial standards of the Justice Department were abused in order to reach a particular result.”
What Barr Said About Obamagate
When asked about Obamagate, Barr said the DOJ was not a political tool to weaponize campaigns with. He stated that the DOJ doesn’t start with a result in mind and then seek a path to achieve it. Barr did not say it, but that’s what the Obama administration did when it determined that Hillary Clinton should not be prosecuted. This was in light of blatant violations of federal law in using her private email account to conduct national security business as the Secretary of State.
Barr also said the DOJ works hard to apply a single standard of justice. Based on his knowledge of the Durham probe at this point, he doesn’t expect Obama or Biden to face criminal charges. He elaborated, and the said political process should not be used to “drum up criminal investigations of either candidate (Trump or Biden).”
That is what the media is focusing on. Trump is making a political statement that Biden and Obama were out to get him. Biden is the de facto leader of the Democratic party right now as the presumptive nominee for president. He has his political statements against Trump. All Barr is saying is the DOJ isn’t their referee.
That doesn’t mean if evidence becomes available that a legitimate and serious crime was committed, there couldn’t be a criminal charge.
The media took Barr’s words out of context and put their bias on display for all to see.

The s*******s corruption and abuse of power by Obama, his operatives and appointees, (as well as their collaborators in the media that excused, defended, covered for, misinformed, REFUSED to inform and outright lied to protect and promote Obama,) may not be technically illegal, but undermines the very fabric of our society. Now that the t***h is coming out the abusively biased, corrupt media needs protect themselves as well as Obama and company
