I don't really have a good area for a garden.

With my addiction to the internet just takes up too much of my time.

I look at this forum as my garden & I plant seeds of thought to see if any become fruitful.

I am looking for areas that can bring us closer together in having a common goal to make our day to day life's go smoother.

One would think that it would be easy because we share so much in common.

Maybe because most of us have lost the chance to have a garden & the touch with nature is the greatest thing we have lost.

The thing I like most about being on this forum is being able to put my thoughts down in writing.

I think this is more for me that reaching out to others.

I think that in a way many of us here feel much the same way.

Instead of it being my garden it is our garden.

As I follow this train of thought I am coming to believe that I & all of us need to look at our brains as gardens & share the fruits of our thoughts with each other.

I know that is what we are doing any way but we need to come to a better understanding of who we are & what we would like to be & reach out to others with what truly it is we are trying to say.

If Mortgages Issued Under The Community Re-Investment Act Had Been Used To Purchase Homes In The Intended Communities, There Would Be More Gardens To Go Around.

In my area they have recently started community gardens, seems to be working. This year I started a garden tower, cool concept. As I currently live in a townhouse it allows me to grow about 50 plants in a 4ft sq area. So far its working pretty well.

You have now planted a positive seed within the soil of my mental garden.

I ask that you forgive me for the seeds of disharmony that I have planted.

Today I offer you a token of respect and admiration because your words have revealed that you are of good spirit.

Exactly what defines a true American.

Indeed he is. I have watched for some time now how carefully he tends his garden, giving great attention to detail and the care he takes to ensure a garden filled with light. It is obviously a labor of love.

I think that if you were to scratch most that you would find their blood is much like any other.

If you were to expose their inner thoughts you would find that most are not much different.

So I say fear not what you find as you dwell deep into your soul. You may find to be much more than you let your self be.

As Martin Luther King said, (paraphrasing a little here) we are ALL capable of great things. All it takes is a heart filled with grace.

Most people on this forum & in life are much better people than they let them self's be.

So much of our time & effort is used up in making ends meet in our day to day lives that we have little time & effort left to spend on doing things that would make our life's better.

Many have sold their souls for the almighty dollar.

Many believing that they are a part of the system but are coming to realize that all they are getting is crumbs.

This seems to make them mad as they see others getting crumbs for not doing any thing.

Crumbs that they feel should be theirs. Which could be true.

The thing is enough crumbs don't seem to be falling to keep the masses happy.

But many feel that it isn't the job of the few to make the masses happy.

Just make me happy & all will be well. I will keep my crumbs.
Whats mine is mine.

Go & fight over some one else's crumbs.

This is part of the system of keeping the people divided.

I know the "pesky crumb" theory well. It is very much alive in the produce world that I inhabit so much of my waking hours. One would think it is a kinder, gentler side of rural America. Indeed, it is not. There are those who from time to time come to me to inform me that it is not fair that I sell at lower prices than they do -- sorry, $3-$4/doz. for eggs is NOT palatable. A producer of beef refuses to allow his product at my market any longer because...I refuse to let him set what "my" prices should be. His retail prices are outrageous and I might as well have folks sign over their first born in order to purchase his beef. He doesn't want, he says, for others to speculate and complain that I might be getter a better deal than they are, which I never did even before he got truly greedy. Are some of these individuals making far better money than I am? Yes, they are, and perhaps not even having a hard time sleeping at night. However, I chose to start the market to offer healthy food at reasonable prices, with no real grocery store within 20 miles.

On the other side of the equation...the fellow who provides bison for the market, an incredibly nice guy, actually has the temerity to provide the bison on consignment and then do a 50/50 split with me. In addition, he and his wife have become customers of mine. I have gleaned from the little comments made here and there, really listening to what they have to say, that they have many causes they contribute to. It has occurred to me that I am one of them.

We are ALL in this boat together and it's a shame that so many do not recognize that fact, that we would all be so much better off in a boat rowing in unison than attempting to frantically shove everyone else out in an effort to save one's self. From one rower to another, safe journey in the turbulent waters ahead. Rowers unite!!

Let me just say that to live like you do is like living the life we all should try for.

To be reasonable in what we ask from others is at the core of what life is about or should be..
