I was putting mail in a curbside box that held the mail for an entire block yesterday when a lady pulled up, and asked me to take the small packages out of her box, and set them in her trunk. No mask, came within 2 feet of me, and said she was afraid of the v***s. I asked her if she wanted the mail out of there too, and she said no, that she would send her daughter down to get it later.

I believe the study you and Rose cited. I have never heard anyone claim masks stop the v***s from spreading when someone coughs. What they didn't address is this: While it doesn't stop all the droplets (produced by coughing) from escaping the mask, masks have been proven to lessen the amount of droplets emitted into the air. This is important as some doctors believe CV patients who were exposed to a smaller amount of pathogens generally have less severe cases of CV while those exposed to larger clusters of pathogens are likely to have more severe cases. Think about it, do you think the 5 people in your example would have spewed more droplets into the air if they had no mask on? Absolutely they would due to the slight barrier the mask provides (simple physics). That is the exact reason Trump requires everyone in the White House to wear a mask. Masks absolutely help at least a little bit and are one of the very few tools we have to fight this crap. And we need every tool we can get, even if it only helps a little bit.
