My daughters were lucky enough to have gone through elementary, middle and high school in a district where teachers were allowed to simply teach. They NEVER went over previous tests and test day for my daughters and pretty much the entire schools were pretty much like days off.

I went back and taught at a high school about that time and all they did was teach tests and go over previous tests. Those kids literally feared for their lives on testing days and were fraught with anxiety about it.

It was very sad to see and the district would not learn from what they were seeing.

NWTK2007,

it looks like the schoolteachers are more afraid of the tests than the pupils are, why is that?

I agree with you victor doherty. Yes that purging of v**es is a big problem. (I've seen a few of Greg Palast's reports on that.) Yes there should have been a hearing on Obama's Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland. Yes there needs to be accountability of running up the debt (and Republicans are the ones who run up the debt the most, for example by their inflated "defense" budget and their inadequate and cockeyed tax policies). Yes the lies of the Republicans were obvious -- I'm not saying Democrats don't also lie sometimes, but Republican lying has obviously been a big problem while Trump's been in office. The George W. Bush administration either lied or misled us in a big way and should have done much better.

V****g rolls need to be purged. There needs to be a way to remove those who have died or moved. This isn't a partisan issue. If the v**er rolls are not accurate, it opens the door to e******n f***d by both sides. The motor v**er laws are a start, but applicants need to make the decision to register, it shouldn't be automatically done by the DMV. V****g is a privilege and a civic duty. People need to go back to a time before the government decided we can't handle making decisions for ourselves. It seems too many people today expect the government to take care of them from cradle to grave.

Most of this that you wrote has merit, but is not the full story. Yes of course we should purge from the roll the v**er who has died. But no we should not purge the v**er who simply has the same common name as a person in a different location. Whoever wants more information can look up Greg Palast (investigative reporter) online (gregpalast.com).

There needs to be a way to verify the person prior to removing them. The same is true for those who moved. There's to many cases of people moving to another state and still being on the rolls in their former state. I moved several years ago and registered in my new county, I don't know if I'm still showing as registered at my former location. I don't pretend to have the answers, but those who are familiar with the e******n rolls would know how to fix this problem.

The only way I see to make it right is for every v**er to show proof that they reside in the city, county, and precinct where they are v****g.

That should be done any ways. You need to show identification to cash a check, open bank accounts, get a job, and many other things that are not as important as v****g. I don't understand the reluctance to this unless you're planning on c***ting.

Mail in v****g is the worst possible way to handle v****g. I see a million ways to c***t that one. For both sides.

I want clean, f**r e******ns.

That's very perceptive, and true.

It's because poor test results reflect on them, right or wrong.

Writing in Bernie is better than not v****g at all. Better still (in my opinion) is to do as Bernie recommends -- or to do as whichever candidate(s) you most respect recommends. I guess that Bernie's smarter about this than I am; I believe he and Warren endorsed Biden, and I know Obama endorsed Biden; so I'll v**e for Biden.

There are probably a host of other things we should _also_ do, but for this v**e that's what I plan to do.

I think there's more to the Biden candidacy than meets the media eye. Any president, to be effective for good, is part of a machine or group which consists of advisors and/or a political party or something like that. Merely heeding the advice of established advisors might be the most important part of being president. Also, think how much better Trump's presidency would have been if he had said and done nothing at all during it. Biden might be the sort of candidate who makes an adequate president or possibly even a very good president.

And that is exactly the sort of mentality - the 'same old, same old' - Washington politics that caused President Trump to be elected.
