L**T Fanatics Won’t Stop Persecuting Colorado Christian Baker

Jack Phillips of Masterpiece Cakeshop has already survived one attempt to bring him to heel for his refusal to indulge the L**T left with his decorative cakes. Phillips won at the Supreme Court when the Colorado state government tried to have him fined for discrimination after he refused to bake a cake for a lesbian wedding. But despite winning that crucial victory, Phillips is not out of the woods yet. That was made blindingly obvious this week when a Colorado district court ruled that t*********r attorney Autumn Scardina may move forward with “her” lawsuit against the Christian business owner.

Scardina’s lawsuit is basically the original lawsuit all over again; he tried to get Phillips to bake a cake celebrating his t***sition from male to female. When Phillips refused, citing his religious beliefs, Scardina filed a complaint with the Colorado Civil Rights Commission. But when that approach failed – mainly because the CCRC had already been put in their place by the U.S. Supreme Court, he decided to take matters into his own hands, filing a lawsuit against Phillips for $100,000 in state court.

In an email to the Washington Examiner this week, Phillips lawyers at the Alliance Defending Freedom said this was an obvious attempt to punish the baker for his religious beliefs.

“This harassment has to end,” they wrote. “We all know Jack Phillips serves everyone, and that there are certain messages he can’t express, no matter who requests them. For years, Scardina, an activist attorney, has targeted Jack simply because of his faith—emailing Jack in 2012, calling him a ‘bigot’ and a ‘hypocrite’ and then following those slurs up with a series of apparent set-ups. Moments after news broke that the U.S. Supreme Court would hear Jack’s first case, the attorney called Jack to request a custom cake that would celebrate a g****r t***sition. And a few months later, this attorney circled back to request a cake depicting Satan smoking marijuana.

“The main reason this attorney would file a lawsuit that seeks over $100,000 from Jack rather than follow the required course of appealing the Civil Rights Commission’s dismissal is to financially ruin Jack and his shop,” they continued. “Scardina is on a mission to purge Jack—and people with beliefs like Jack’s—from the marketplace. It’s not going to work. We will steadfastly defend Jack for as long as this baseless lawsuit proceeds.”

This is d********g, and the Supreme Court bears a certain amount of responsibility. Instead of clearly ruling that no lesbian or t*********r customer can compel a business owner to celebrate their sexual lifestyle, they sidestepped the main issue when they ruled on Phillips’ original case. It was a cowardly ruling that focused on remarks made by members of the Colorado Civil Rights Commission instead of the First Amendment. If they had ruled on the true issue of the case, trolls like Scardina would not have standing to sue Phillips today.

If this case winds up before the Supreme Court, lets hope the conservative justices have the guts to put the L**T mob out of business for good.

I'm gay and happy. Most gay folks I know are as well.

It's the ones who oppose L***Q folks that seem to me to be unhappy.

This entire affair, or should I say "string of affairs" involving Phillips is simply another indication that not only these L***Qers, but their supporters on the political left (also known as the Democrats) hold the letter of the Constitution in very low esteem.

Since the bakery is privately owned, pays taxes and has no tax generated revenue, it is not in any government's (federal or local) purview to dictate whom Phillips does business with or what business he does.

Just another day in the annals of today's Democratic Party.

Why a man whose livelihood involves making flowers out of sugar has a problem with gay people is beyond me!

I have no opinion on what consenting adults do in private, because it's none of my business. When consenting adults get in my face with it, I form an opinion, and it's not favorable. I worked in a managerial capacity in Food Service for quite a while, and I personally have no problem with catering gay functions; half my damn wait staff was gay. That being said, I also have no problem with someone who feels otherwise for religious reasons. That is HIS business.
I can't help but wonder why no one has ever tried to set up and sue a Muslim business for a similar action?
I am not a Christian, but I wonder at the fact that practicing Christians seem to be singled out for lawsuits and chicken kacky. I suppose they are the Jews of the 21st Century.

It's simple.

Today's Democratic Party has been hijacked by the far left, who take their political doctrine from C*******m, particularly the Soviet variety.

Naturally, they will deny this because the only way they could possibly get the American people to buy what they're selling is through stealth strategies.

That said, as Christianity was persecuted in the USSR, they must eradicate it here as well because they don't want belief in G-d to come between the people and the supreme power of the State.

No matter what they say or how they debate it, this is the essence of every Democrat and every useful fool who supports the Democrats here at OPP.

Well said Smedley

This man has never refused to sell a cake to any ABCXYZs. He just refuses to use his personal talents in baking and designing cakes to promote any life style he disapproves of, or feels is against his religion. I don't know, but he might also refuse to decorate cakes that use derogatory language, or personal attacks against others or other Religions or Races or Political parties. They can buy any cake on the shelf and decorate it themselves.

There are places on the Internet that decorate cakes with anything. Look them up. X rated as all hell. They can go to these places to get their cakes. This is and always has been about trying to force their ideology down the throats of anyone who might disagree with their life style and choices. They've attacked Christian wedding chapels, florists, personal card and invitation designers, photographers, and whoever else they can find. The have no objective but to win and jam ABCXYZ s**t down the throats of others. I have never heard of them going to an Orthodox Jewish bakery of any Muslim bakery.

I once needed a special cake, with a penis prominently displayed, for a special event honoring that organ. Don't ask. Isn't part of this story. I was nice enough to go to a bakery and quietly, discretely, ask the baker if she would do something like that, (and here is the important part) or knew of somewhere were I could get it done. She nicely recommended another baker and I went there. She told me the limits she would do and they fit the needs of the moment and all was good. No need to make an ass of myself like this ABCXYZ crowd. Simple courtesy on sensitive or controversial matters. Also needed some Twat Tarts one time. Again, worked nicely and respectively with the baker and got something done, reasonably tasteful and tasty.

But these people are not out for pastries or flower or pictures or what ever. They are out for an agressive ABCXYZ agenda and a profit and to put him out of business. If he were to agree to do this, they would then demand that he put in his advertising that he caters to these ABCXYZ demands. Then never get enough. They are sick bastards and should be condemmed and so should anyone who backs these vicious, wrong minded attacks.

Logically right

I'm unaware of any confrontation with a Muslim bakery, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. If anyone knows of one please let me know.

In the meantime I found this opinion in ANS Religious News Service.
I was surprised to find that the Muslim author sided with the gay couple.

From the article:

"From an Islamic perspective, religion is not serving its purpose if human dignity is c*********d. Religiously motivated discrimination goes against the Islamic principles of tolerance and protection of individual rights."

They have a right to be, their being taught in schools how to be gay, or if you feel like a girl today Even
If your a boy that's ok, use the girls room. I noticed that the girls aren't too happy with the boys winning all the athletic games that are being run by women. Their going to have to change the name of some of this stuff.
The ladies are getting ruffled, course they probably v**ed for this insanity. I also read where a parent was
Really upset when a teenager used the ladies room at school and he was doing a lot of looking.but, maybe
These are some people who thought it was only fair to v**e for this crap.
The socialist ways.

Sorry Carlos, but your sentence seems a little jumbled to me. Can you re-state?
Also, it's really helpful if you use "quote reply" so the post you are referencing is included, making it a little clearer.
