Our laws designed to prevent or at least impede human trafficking have been in place long before George W. Bush. A number of presidents, including Obama, have signed amendments to those laws to keep them current. The implied blame Bush is therefore ignorant on several levels.

The intent of these laws is clear; first to discourage human trafficking and to provide for the immediate welfare of the 'victims' until they can be repatriated. While under these laws many i******s are entitled to legal representation and court hearings before deportation, in the case of unaccompanied minors a hearing is mandatory. This was done in the interest of humanitarian charity.

Significantly these laws do not apply to Mexican minors. The U.S. has an agreement with Mexico to turn back Mexican children at the border or repatriate them with immediacy. This is part of the explanation of our sudden inundation by sub-Mexican countries' refugee children.

Again the intent of the law is clear; humanitarian care for children until repatriation. No one, not any president or legislator, Republican or Democrat anticipated in their wildest dreams that the president of the United States would use the law as a political weapon. They did not anticipate Barack Obama.

There is no way on Gods green earth that 10's of thousands of people, most under 18 years of age, are violating the Southern Mexican border, traveling 1500 miles through one of the most violent environments in this hemisphere and then violating the U.S. border without planning, coordination and cooperation. No way.

Human traffickers? Coyotes? Sure...oh, and my hard drive just crashed...

L*****ts should be thrilled. From my perspective this is a stroke of genius on the part of Obama; absolutely brilliant. He knows that most of these people will never be sent home. Leveraging the law outside it's intent he has created tens of thousands of future Democrat v**ers that he will appeal to as a 'community organizer' for years after his presidency in support of the Progressive agenda. This is a monster win for Democrats and possibly the beginning of the end of the Republican party in it's current form anyway.

But blame it on Bush? Please...that dog ain't huntin'.

Yes and we're still at it. That aside for the moment, this whole argument is predicated on the assumption that progressive c*******m is concerned with race, creed, socio-economic class or general human condition. They aren't.
