Why are so many people that question science attracted to the Republican Party? On OPP, I have heard many right wingers question science. Some examples are:
1. disbelief in the theory of evolution.
2. disbelieve the very large majority of earth scientists that warn us of human caused greenhouse gasses causing g****l w*****g.
3. refusing to believe what scientists and medical doctors say about reopening the public places, and businesses before the country is ready.
I don't think that the advise of science based t***hs should be a matter of politics.

As a physician, fairly well grounded in science, I stand with the Republican on those issues.

Those radical right wingers are the equivalent of lefties who believe socialism is a good thing - cut from the same clothe, just different sides.

And there are many reputable scientists and physicians who disagree with those opposed to reopening.

We do not question science. We question the people of science.

Nor do I. That is why I don't listen to people claiming to be scientists.
Speaking of "g****l w*****g;" perhaps you can enlighten us as to why the temperature of the Earth has not risen by more than a fraction of a degree in 20 years?
Why was there more CO2 in the atmosphere in the last ICE AGE than there is today?

The theory of evolution is just that a theory. It is not a law, law of Gravity, Relativity, Boyle's, etc. To be validated, it must be predict future results from a set of circumstances. Evolution.

***Why are so many people that question science attracted to the Republican Party?
>>>They aren't. Fact.
***On OPP, I have heard many right wingers question science.
>>>On OPP, I have heard many left wingers question science. Also the laws of economics and so many other example of idiocy run amok.

Some examples are:
***1. disbelief in the theory of evolution.
>>>2. disbelief in the theory of creationism. Of course the smart thinkers, mostly on the right, know both are possible, and simply theories.
***2. disbelieve the very large majority of earth scientists that warn us of human caused greenhouse gasses causing g****l w*****g.
>>>2. disbelieve the very large majority of earth scientists, and not trumped up phony numbers, tell us that any evidence of G****l W*****g is nothing more then the earth going through the cycles it has gone through for millions of years. Fact, indisputable facts.
***3. refusing to believe what scientists and medical doctors say about reopening the public places, and businesses before the country is ready.
>>>3. refusing to believe what scientists and medical doctors say about reopening the public places, and businesses that never should have been closed in the first place.

***I don't think that the advise of science based t***hs should be a matter of politics.
>>>I don't think that the advise of science based t***hs should be a matter of politics. That is why you get all the facts before making decisions, unlike to many advocating lock downs that aren't proving to be any better then the areas that weren't under Lock Down. Sweden, South Dakota.

American, I've said it before, but I've been a liberal Democrat my entire life of seventy five years. During that time, I only met one Democrat that considers himself a socialist. I believe in capitalism, but I understand that it is so powerful, that corporations can and do show a lot of financial support to legislatures that pay close attention to their interests, often at the cost of working people and the middle class. There have to be laws that can control capitalism to give the little guy a break and a stake in the American dream. Socialists want a complete change in our economic system and turn over the big industries to the government. These are two very different ideas. Socialism is a revolutionary movement, liberalism is a reform movement.

Theory of Relativity...

The term "Theory" simply means idea... Put a proven theory is still a theory...

Evolution has been balidated... Numerous times... Which makes it a "Proven Theory"... But still a theory....

The words theory and law have dissolved into each other, Canuckus, to be almost interchangeable but they are not. Relativity has been demonstrated time and again with predictable results before the fact. In evolution, things are observed after the fact. The validation has only been retroactively.

Evolutionary mechanisms have been observed in real time... Gdnetic drift and selective breeding are two of them...

And in my entire life of seventy five years, I've never met one Democrat who isn't a socialist. I believe in the free market, not capitalism, a pejorative term, possibly coined by Lenin. Every liberal believes that he has the right to overrule the decisions of the marketplace for what you call reform.

Liberalism, a reform movement, saltwind78? And who does the reforming? Why you and those who agree with you. Liberalism ends with socialism. All but one progressive (that's what they called them back then) of the Progressive Era admired Mussolini & Lenin, later Stalin.

And the demorats believe we have 64 g****rs, the world will end in 8 years, men can m*******te and have babies, that random chance created mankind and that women and men are exactly the same. Demorats believe l*****t unscientific scientists while conservatives embrace the scientific principle.

Bernie Sanders has millions of supporters - and he described himself as a socialist.

obama said he wanted to "fundamentally t***sforming the United States of America". That, to me, indicates that he is an enemy of the Constitution of the United States - and thus freedom itself.

There are already many laws to 'control capitalism'; many of them are very problematic to freedom. Exactly what would YOU change? And the 'little guy' right now has tons of opportunities to participate in the 'American dream' - more than any other place in the world.

You describe your self as a liberal - and liberalism is a 'reform' movement: What exactly would you change (reform) in America?
