A Country's C***d Outcome Has Everything To Do With It's Government And People

The whole world is in this C***d thing together, we are seeing how different countries have handled it, and it is not rocket science to be able to see what works and what doesn't. Common sense and simple analytical sk**ls are all anyone needs to be able to understand how this thing works...nobody should be steered the wrong way by talking heads that are creating narratives that are just not true.

On one hand it's harder to prove how many lives have been saved by taking an action than we see k**led when a country didn't. One is obvious and can't be denied, the other is harder to prove.

Ireland shut down their St Patrick's day parade and celebration, a big deal to be sure. Had their government represented this as a h**x, down played it as nothing more than a flu, there would have been a major uprising on it. But the fact of the matter is the people are supportive of measures to contain this as best as possible. They take this seriously because the government took it seriously and correctly informed people of the science behind what it is and how to save lives. Irish people are well informed and unified.

If the US had had a government that rolled out experts in infectious disease, and let them inform the people and call the shots about what we needed to do, both the economy and people would have been a lot better off. Credible models put the current deaths at down around 6000 had the country been shut down two weeks earlier in a unified manner.

We are dealing with something that BS will only fly for so long before the BS splats up against the wall of reality and facts. Trump predicted 60,000 deaths by August, that model was predicated on a higher degree of cooperation with stricter social policies.

Trump and the right wing spin machine is trying to create a narrative for now that is going to crash and burn by the fall. The 60,000 deaths predicted for August are out the window, but by how much? We are still seeing at least 2000 deaths a day, they are not going down, and with states wanting to go back to a normal that is not possible, that is likely to increase all the way through the fall, with sharply escalating numbers by then. The experts are telling us that the second wave in the fall can easily k**l 200,000 more people, and we are not doing the things that would reduce that number, we are actually doing the things that could make it worse.

What we saw in New York is what we will be seeing in rural america, red states to a disproportionate degree. What is going to be happening in the summer and fall could easily be substantially mitigated and reduced, and the stupidly ironic thing here is that the economy is going to be worse off. A much stronger and longer lockdown with a goal to a much higher degree of testing wouldn't hurt the economy any more than it already is. Trump can spew all the hopey and happy BS he wants now, all that will matter in the end by the fall and winter months is what has he done to make this go as well as possible, because the fact that he hasn't will be painfully obvious. Red states like Florida can hide their death numbers all they want, they are going to be hammered in ways that are worse than New York because their healthcare systems are not nearly as extensive.

People don't have to listen to the president or FOX, there is a world of reality out there that can be easily looked at that tells us what works when actions are taken and what doesn't when countries ignorantly downplay this.

Unfortunately, many subscribers to this site are blinded by their stubborn loyalty to Trump and FOX and
blow off the other sources as f**e news. Trump is now running the biggest show on earth only this time the game show host is affecting millions of people. Trump is merely plotting for the fall e******n with no regard for the lives he is ruining. He’ll keep his minority base – it’s almost like they are hypnotized by him. But the swing v**ers are recognizing him for the fraud that he is. The tide is shifting. The only good thing to come out of the p******c is Trump being v**ed out of office.

Keep telling yourself that until you really believe it, you will have another meltdown and sky screaming session that will make 2016 look like the best thing that ever happened to you.

You are making fools of yourselves daily, don’t think that goes unnoticed by the swing v**ers, and on top of that you are running a geriatric perverted mental case that should be eating warm pudding in his underwear.

Good luck with that #tagmetoo y’all started, time to pay the piper bro, some of that reap what you sow crap is coming back the bite that backside.

Excellent post! Texas incurred it's highest daily death toll (500) thus far just yesterday (4/30). The VERY NEXT DAY (today, 5/1), the state reopened. That inane/insane decision, without a doubt, was GREATLY influenced by Trump and Fox News and is undoubtedly going to prolong the p******c and ultimately make it even worse in Texas than it is now. You are dead-on when you say "the stupidly ironic thing here is that the economy is going to be worse off". It is SO ironic.... the very people trying to save the economy are going to destroy it even further by ignoring science, medical experts and the data from countries that were hit prior to us. They are just going to prolong this and make it even worse on everyone, themselves included. It is (as you say) very stupid and ironic indeed. When the dust finally settles, Trump and Fox are going to be responsible for an astronomical number of deaths simply by downplaying CV from the beginning and continuing to do so going forward. Very sad and could/should have been very preventable.

I live in Texas and yesterday in my town was the same as it's been with one exception. There were two drive-in places with the spaces full. I still can't go into a place and pay a bill.

What happened here in NY city has little to do with the c*******t city and state government (even though the Mayor and Governor were both a bit late on the uptake) but had everything to do with the extreme density of the population and intense use of public t***sport.
