Polio V*****e: Fact or Fraud?

Does anyone know of any scientific study showing the polio v*****e works?

I’ve always believed the polio v*****e was proof, v*****e theory was sound, there were just good and bad v*****e applications. Recently I encountered a mother who refused to v******te her child. She challenged me to present her with any valid study showing v*****es were worth the risk. Thinking it would be easy, I dove head first into the history of polio and its v*****e. What I found shocked me!

I now present the mother’s challenge to the One Political Plaza community. Can anyone find a valid scientific study showing the polio v*****e works?

Let the V*****eGames begin.

That was the first question that came to my mind as well. After reading the above article, I was no longer sure, the answer was clear. What do you think Canuckus?

Unbeknownst to most doctors, the polio-v*****e history involves a massive public health service makeover during an era when a live, deadly strain of poliov***s infected the Salk polio v*****es, and paralyzed hundreds of children and their contacts.

These were the v*****es that were supposedly responsible for the decline in polio from 1955 to 1961! But there is a more sinister reason for the “decline” in polio during those years; in 1955, a very creative re-definition of poliov***s infections was invented, to “cover” the fact that many cases of ”polio” paralysis had no poliov***s in their systems at all.

While this protected the reputation of the Salk v*****e, it muddied the waters of history in a big way.

According to Lancet 6.28.14:

Acute flaccid paralysis is a weakness in one or more limbs or the respiratory or bulbar muscles, resulting from damaged lower motor neurons. The most common v***l causes are polio and non-polio enterov***ses. As polio gradually disappears globally, there is major concern about the probable emergence of other neurotropic enterov***ses to occupy the niche and cause infections mimicking acute paralytic poliomyelitis.

See link (first graph image) which shows how the decrease in polio is directly correlated to an increase in Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP):

You didn’t mention polio in your response. Do you agree with the research presented that suggests there is some valid controversy regarding the v*****e?

Your point about tetanus and smallpox is absolutely valid. I will research those v*****es next, but since polio is the poster child for v*****es, I thought I would tackle it first.

The Tetanus V*****e:

Using the MedAlerts search engine, as of May 31, 2019, there have been 184,528 a*****e e***ts reported to the V*****e A*****e E***ts Reporting System (V***S) in connection with tetanus v*****es.

There have been 5,913 claims filed in the federal V*****e Injury Compensation Program (VICP) for injuries and deaths following v******tion with tetanus including 866 deaths and 5,047 serious injuries.

Prior to v*****e introduction in the 1940s there were approximately 500 annual cases of tetanus.

Now on to the next sacred cow- small pox.
