Like many of us, I'm expecting a stimulus check. I need a new lap-top or pad, and a couple pairs of sneakers.
The lap-top may have to be a rebuilt, and I don't know where the sneaks will come from, but they won't be chinese. My point is,I intend to keep this money in my Country. Comments?

My daughter has refused to buy Chinese for most of her life but it can make it very hard to find/get some things. She's spent weeks on some items just trying to make sure it was not made in China.
Stay well!

Bravo! You are a true American patriot. I feel exactly the same way. We purchase all this shoddy crap from the Chines C*******t regime--and they laugh all the way to the bank! It is high time that American's band together and stop this insanity.

Computers should be easy... Surely a Japanese model is available.. Although parts are made in a number of countries...
And sneakers must be available from American companies....
It's always better to support one's own economy... At the national, state, and municipal level...

Some Japanese Brand cars are more American than the Big Three. Parts come from all over the world and it is currently impossible to buy a 100% made in (place name of country here).

Tell me about it....
Over here we're getting more things with "made in not China" every year

I have been doing that since years ago. I h**e buying Chinese manufactured products. And I refuse going to the shopping mall because all I see there are made in China. I never go to Walmart because all the items sold there are made in China.
So, I tried to be frugal for the meantime. Most of my clothing and outfit were bought several years ago. They are classic and never go out of style. Besides they all last long and still appear to be classy and new.
We must not buy any Chinese products. I don't care if Walmart goes down. Eventually it will come back as soon as our manufacturing are local, and they will sell all local products. A little more expensive but the qualities are great which also last for a long time. So at the end it is cheaper since it serves us longer.

Radiance, I envy your fashion-sense. And I agree, too, with quality trumping price.
I'm a retired tradesman, now a Dashing and Friendly Handy-Man. Home Depot and Lowe's have also gone down the "China Road".
It has forced me to stop guaranteeing a lot of my work, as their products are inferior. Ergo, less work. This v***s business is the last straw,
and is unforgivable, or at best unforgettable.
Thanks, ALL, for your feed-back.
Stay healthy, and...
God Bless America.

I suspect most people will use the stimulus checks for one of two purposes. The first will be as a down payment on a new car they can't afford. The second will be on a new 4K big-screen TV.

I, too, want to buy only American, but it has become almost impossible, and not just because of China. How much of the things we need and require are made in Mexico? How about India? South Korea? I need a new car, but are ANY of our autos actually completely Anerican made? Seems that while the auto may be assembled here, many, many of the parts are made outside the USA. Not long ago, I read an article (unsure of its t***h) that we have US chicken companies exporting live chickens to a foreign nation, where they are slaughtered, packaged for US grocery stores, and shipped back to the US. I make no claims to being a financier, an economist, etc, but I thought, " if that is actually happening, what is the "money" reason behind it, because there must be one, but it makes absolutely no sense in any way." There was a time that the USA was, mostly self-sufficient, not dependent on foreign nations for any of our necessities for daily life. I'd like to return to that, but it seems impossible. Even things that are supposedly produced here are done so by companies owned by foreigners and/or their countries. I applaud your daughter. She has more patience than most of us in her attempts to find out exactly where a specific item was produced.
