Finally, some honesty from the CDC

In a new study published for the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, researchers found that the majority of those hospitalized due to C****-** have preexisting conditions—about 90% of patients, or nearly all, had one or more underlying conditions. The most common, per the CDC, include hypertension (49.7%), obesity (48.3%), chronic lung disease (34.6%), diabetes mellitus (28.3%), and cardiovascular disease (27.8%). https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/health-news/nearly-90percent-of-people-hospitalized-for-c****-**-have-underlying-conditions-says-cdc/ar-BB12pf0p?ocid=spartandhp

Up to this point, the CDC and WHO has been saying that the SARS-CoV-2, aka, c****av***s is an out right indiscriminate k**ler. Now that they have taken the step to clarify who "may" get sick, perhaps they will admit that it arrived in the USA much earlier than January and for healthy people it makes you feel like crap for a few days but no worse than seasonal flu.

BTW, the 1 million predicted dead is now 60,000 according to F***i. Forty-five states are projected to have far fewer deaths. But the model also shows five states with projected increases: Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Dakota and Rhode Island.

What's new about this? It's been known that the majority of deaths had underlying factors for more than a month now...

I posted a thread almost three weeks back discussing this very thing... You engaged on it..

https://www.onepoliticalplaza.com/t-178494-1.html

Both WHO and the CDC have been saying that certain demographics are more effected and have a greater likelihood of dying from the c****a v***s..

Yes, I vaguely remember that you made a point about American citizens being fat and your suffering relatives. "I can guarantee that obesity is a much larger problem in Canada and the US than in China... Chinese duets are usually far healthier than the majority found in the West (other than the occasional bowl of at soup)." I took offense because I have some relatives who are treated badly because of their weight. They are from my mother's gene pool (German). Lucky for me, I inherited from my Poppa....tall and thin. But, my heart goes out to those people that try everything to lose weight, especially when people who do not know them give them the stink eye when they have the gall to order a desert or gods forbid a milkshake with their meal.

Conjecture is all fine and well, but this is one of the first reports where the CDC has examined more than just data provided by China. Plus, it is a new release....It got my attention, so I shared it along with my opinion and added the new improved revised guess from F***i.

"Certain demographics" have a higher rate of all the underlying factors. This is probably due to their gene makeup and their individual choice of diet.

Now, do you have something constructive to add to this thread? If not, thanks for dropping in.

You took offense because I stated the same facts as the article you just posted... Odd way to view things...

My relatives tend to be inquisitive, it's a family thing... So a month ago when this information was first brought to their attention they began to wonder how it would affect them and their nations.... Bizarre type of behavior... I make no excuses for them, I'm guilty of it myself...

Diet plays a large part in the lives of individuals and societies... I have some large people in my family, sone are outright obese, but I don't take offense when people talk about obesity... They're pretty ok with it too... Must be an American thing, PC is very prevalent... Lots of topics trigger people... Apologies for any offense given...

Perhaps this is the first report you've seen, but the WHO certainly hasn't been misleading people over this... Nor has the CDC... It's good they have conducted their own studies, helps to demonstrate the validity of the information other nations have been providing...

Yes, demographics are often categorized by various factors like genetics and dietary habits... That's what makes them a demographic... And why it's important to understand those factors, especially when they may lead to a greater threat to life...

Constructive? Certainly...

The information has been available, has been reported by numerous agencies, and the v***s has never been reported as a serious threat to the majority of the population... People need to be aware because of the infectious nature of this particular v***s and the fact that it is t***smitted even when symptoms are not present... As such certain precautions should be taken...

Predictions and estimates will continue to change as models are revised... The uniqueness of the situation makes it difficult to build accurate models... Everyone should stop second guessing and be happy that preventive measures are having sex visible effect on the spread of the v***s...

This too shall pass... Stay strong..

And this is relevant how? Such diseases always take a higher toll on those already weakened by other health issues, including exhaustion and malnutrition such as experienced by medial personnel and first responders, but is by no means limited to such folk. This MMWR even points that out with it's 10% non underlying issues count.

BTW, this does NOT predict who will or will not contract the disease, or who will or will not become sick after exposure. Another BTW, the predicted dead in the beginning was based on what, or rather was not, being done in response to the impending p******c. The fact that the predictions have had to be recalculated is a two edged sword; a blessing that the numbers were reduced as more preventive measures came online, and an indictment due to the fact that the responses came online in dribbles and drabs.

I gave you the quote that was offensive and why. Had you just left the conditions stand alone, as this new report did....then it would not be offensive. So, in the event you need the quote again 'I can guarantee that obesity is a much larger problem in Canada and the US than in China... Chinese duets are usually far healthier than the majority found in the West (other than the occasional bowl of at soup). You do not see this as offensive?

As for WHO.... I do not put much faith in any information they provide. It is true that they helped China cover up the epidemic. At the end of December the WHO was warned by Taiwan officials that the W***n c****av***s was spreading through human-to-human contact. The WHO, an ally first to China, said two weeks later there was "no evidence" this was the case. They did this by citing unreliable, dishonest, official Chinese government sources. Nearly two weeks after that, the WHO argued against restrictions on international air travel. This of course ultimately led to the devastating p******c we are in now. In the time in-between the warning from Taiwan and the statement from WHO, China destroyed samples of the v***s, shut down labs, arrested doctors and welded shut buildings where victims of the disease lived. So, should WHO tell me that sex causes pregnancy, I would not believe them and I would look to see who paid them to spread the information. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=the+WHO+covered+for+china&mkt=en-us&httpsmsn=1&msnews=1&rec_search=1&plvar=0&refig=6fff7e915d8f42b79ebebad860609631&PC=HCTS&sp=-1&pq=the+who+covered+for+china&sc=1-25&qs=n&sk=&cvid=6fff7e915d8f42b79ebebad860609631&ru=%2fsearch%3fq%3dthe%2bWHO%2bcovered%2bfor%2bchina%26form%3dEDNTHT%26mkt%3den-us%26httpsmsn%3d1%26msnews%3d1%26rec_search%3d1%26plvar%3d0%26refig%3d6fff7e915d8f42b79ebebad860609631%26PC%3dHCTS%26sp%3d-1%26pq%3dthe%2bwho%2bcovered%2bfor%2bchina%26sc%3d1-25%26qs%3dn%26sk%3d%26cvid%3d6fff7e915d8f42b79ebebad860609631&view=detail&mmscn=vwrc&mid=2067CB3CA5143D5985832067CB3CA5143D598583&FORM=WRVORC

So, in your conclusion you do not elect to discuss the underlying conditions leading to death, but rather why I would see it necessary to post the revised information as you had already covered the required information. Each "new" threat to global health comes with its own set of unique speculations that, over time, begin to resemble the old game "Gossip"....where something that starts as one train of thought turns into something very much different than the original one as it is passed along, and everyone who publicly speculates most likely has their own agenda. Data can be manipulated to say what someone wants it to say. That said, I am also pleased to see that the numbers are turning out to be "less than". We have seen "this one" become every variation on a theme, and then some. I am in that group that already has to take special care.....between my lupus, having survived a cancer that I had a 0-1% chance of getting past, diagnosed 3 years ago, and my vintage age (lol) of almost 73. I'm sure we're all anxious to see how this story turns out.

It's new in that the CDC and those involved in leading the way on social distancing and sheltering at home have not wanted to admit that the target groups can protect themselves without the rest of us shutting down. It is also interesting that the v***s gets into cells via the Bp regulatory protein, ACE II, found in the membranes of cells lining airways and small blood vessels of the lungs, heart and many organs.

Also, finally admitting that it was probably active a good while before December is significant, indicating any delay in reactivity to it was more in the hands of the healthcare apparatus and not political figures like, oh say, Trump??

Well stated...

It is to be hoped that the predictions continue to decline as more of the population become aware of the effectiveness of the preventive measures...

I elect to discuss the thread as I see fit..

There were no revised numbers, only confirmation of numbers readily available..

Your original post included the statement "Up to this point, the CDC and WHO has been saying that the SARS-CoV-2, aka, c****av***s is an out right indiscriminate k**ler. " which was false and misleading...

Your narrative now is that you don't trust these organizations.. Which is fine... It's your responsibility to vet information and decide which sources are valid... It's also your responsibility to make dactual statements to the best of your ability...

The above quote is blatantly false, as has been brought to your attention...

As to the underlying conditions... Some demographics are more vulnerable than others, please don't spread plague because you're not among them...

I must admit that I don't access all of the major networks, and that I have little use for the UN... But both Fox and MSNBC have run stories describing the greater danger to certain demographics..As have any number if papers.... Information that they attained from WHO and the CDC...

Segregating some of the population would be ineffective and costly... How would one go about separating any individuals with the described conditions from the rest if the population?

As such the quarantine procedures become necessary to ensure the most effective outcome....

Personally I think that had America acted with more unity and coordination it would have been able to enact a strategy similar to Japan, Korea, and Germany... The in fighting and finger pointing has been extremely detrimental....

Admitting? There should first be evidence of it...

Once again, personal opinion, if it were true then there should have been f**gs... Not just in America, but in numerous other nations... Especially nations that see a high traffic between themselves and China...

Unless you're suggesting the v***s originated in the US

Is it not obvious that the healthcare apparatus was woefully unprepared? Bureaucrats contributed to that, undoubtedly, but to this extent? No, the system has been lax... Not just in America, but elsewhere as well... This will be a wake up call to many... God willing...
