Testing is almost useless without further preventive measures...

Canada is scary... My cousin just got back from Japan a week or so ago and has been self quarantining... He has started to develop symptoms that may be related.. And called the hospital to get tested... Explained his travel history and all... They told him there is no need unless it gets worse...

1. If it is the Wu flu then they need to test anyone who flew with him or may have come into contact with him... The flight from Japan was fairly decent guideline wise he said... But the flight from Vancouver to our hometown had no measures whatsoever... Not even spacing in line or giving the stewardesses masks and gloves...

2. He had heart surgery a year and a half ago and is still taking medication for it... The doctors are worried about a potential recurrence of his issue... So if it is the Wu flu and his symptoms do worsen he is in the category that doesn't do well... And the hospital is fully aware of this...

I pray your brother will be ok.
I see the same in the us and I fear we will pay the price for it.
There is far to much politics in our response.

We need to recognize that the availability of a reliable test has been severely limited. You cannot blame people for not ordering testing when there was no way to do that many.

In refute to your ill founded opinion:

The problem was that the FDA and the CDC were obsessed with maintaing their monopolistic
"control" over what turned out to be a critically flawed testing process.

Until 14 March 2020, public health laboratories using the CDC assay were required
by FDA to submit samples to CDC for confirmation.
https://www.cdc.gov/c****av***s/2019-ncov/cases-updates/testing-in-us.html

HHS has launched an investigation into CDC’s first round of c****av***s diagnostic tests
that many public health laboratories across the country were unable to use because
one component was flawed.

The delay in testing capacity has slowed the U.S. response to the c****av***s,
which public health experts say impeded the detection of what are now outbreaks
in multiple states. Only this week is the pace of testing beginning to step up.

There was a way to do that much testing, this is the fallacy the right blathers on about. The CDC needed to kick every lab that can do testing into gear months ago, South Korea did just that in January the first day both countries reported their first cases. The military has a dozen infectious disease labs, every state has universities, there are federally funded labs that can do this work. The world health organization offered to get labs started with the protocol, trump said no, our two big labs are good (to have a monopoly) so the money doesn't have to be shared with a hundred other labs.

We still have the CDC jamming up the works, and states are reporting 8 day delays in getting results. The CDC guidelines are preventing even medical personnel from getting tested when they are showing signs.

Don't even go there that there was no way, the way took trump jumping on this the way South Korea did, we are supposed to be better than this.

I don't see that happening, LW. His numbers seem about as good as they've been...not that I put stock in them to begin with.

Testing will show the shtloads of people who already had it and they'll use those numbers to insinuate those people got it since the news broke.

The test came from World Health Organization and were faulty showing 48% false negatives.
Regardless of any fast response test kits had to be ordered and distributed out of thin air.
Considering having to respond to the lies of China, then W.H.O. lying to back up China then recieving faulty test, test kits arrived quickly.
The left expects a magic wand during every turn of an "unprecedented worldwide event ".
Perhaps we need to explain the definition of "unprecedented " to the left.
