Thoughts - Vital Materials a Concern
Apr 5, 2020 08:17:15   #
Canuckus Deploracus Loc: North of the wall

I'm hearing some claim that China will cut off aid to America or refuse to provide vital materials.. This was just posted today... Hopefully it will help negate some fears...

(I included the original Chinese post as well... Below is the post I ran through t***slated and cleaned up the grammar a bit....You can do the same... Or search for the English version..I prefer the ChinaDaily to the People's Daily for my news...So I don't have the English App for People's Daily on my phone...)

Ministry of Commerce: China does not and will not restrict the export of medical materials

04-05 15:47 People's Daily
00:43
On April 5, the press conference of the Joint Defense and Joint Control Mechanism of the State Council was held in Beijing.

In response to the question of whether China will restrict the export of key medical materials, Jiang Fan, a first-level inspector of the Department of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce, said that there is an old saying in China called "A little help brings great return" Many countries are helping us. Therefore, while China's epidemic prevention and control situation has improved and foreign epidemic outbreaks are accelerating, we are willing to provide relevant countries and regions with the best support and assistance we can on the basis of good domestic epidemic prevention and control, so as to give back to the international community. There is no and will not be any restriction on the export of medical materials.

Thanks, Kyle. I would be interested to hear your impression of one Michael Pillsbury and his writings about China, especially concerning the t***h-telling in the Chinese C*******t world. That is if you feel free to do so.

It's getting late and I would prefer to read...

Michael Pillsbury has written a book titled - "The 100 year Marathon: China's Secret Strategy to Replace America as The Global Superpower." I have ordered the book so I haven't read it. I have heard a few of his interviews and he seems to know a great deal about China as he has been involved in China studies for nearly 30 years. He is now involved with China studies with the Hudson Institute. One part that caught my interest is his statement that Chinese C*******ts are not concerned so much about the t***h, but wh**ever leads to the C*******t goals. I know this isn't new to the C*******t ideology of "The end justifies the means," but it is of particular concern when we are dealing with them on such important matters of state as well as health concerns like the c****a v***s. What do you think?

I think they are less concerned with "Classical
C*******m " and more concerned with their new "C*******m with Chinese Elements"...

They certainly want to be a global power.... Who wouldn't...

Capitalism has allowed them to develop at A rapid pace and brought free at wealth to the nation... While the government structure retains a c*******tic structure.. Although there is a lot of culture built into that structure...

Unlike many western nations, they don't embrace the concept of "diversity"... The average individual is extremely nationalistic and ethnocentric.. And as the majority of the population is homogenous they don't have our issues with race... Although there is a certain amount of differentiation between the north, South, and central areas..

Last year more than a thousand green cards were given to foreigners... It's started a bit of a movement among the population.... They don't want too many outsiders in their society...

One thing that I think people tend to overlook or perhaps are just unaware of is the length of their history... China is old... And that sort of cultural identity is powerful...

China is not a friend... It may be friendly at times... But it is not a friend...

America and other nations would do well to remember this...

Trade is fine... And good for the economy... But vital industries should not be entrusted toba nation that could never be anything more than a rival..

I'm hearing some claim that China will cut off aid... (show quote)

My thoughts.....where in this article did China say it would not restrict exports to the USA? China has made over 1 billion (US dollar equivalent) on medical supplies since the p******c started. They sell to 50 nations. Although I would like to take comfort in your message, it is so vague no individual country should put their hopes in on that "cleaned up" proclamation.

In a wake up call for the US...we have allowed businesses to move to China without exploring negative scenarios...the what if c*******t China shut down supplies or extorts US by tripling prices. China accounts for 95% of U.S. imports of ibuprofen, 91% of U.S. imports of hydrocortisone, 70% of U.S. imports of acetaminophen, 40% to 45% of U.S. imports of penicillin and 40% of U.S. imports of heparin, according to Commerce Department data. In all, 80% of the US supply of antibiotics are made in China.

China, by our own inaction, has us by the short and wiry. The only thing we can hope for is your defense is right and China will continue to sell and export to the USA during this p******c. We can pray that DC now understands what President Trump has been saying....the USA has to start thinking ahead, not live on hope of no emergencies where we are at the mercy of nations that on any day changes their 'friend list", and those nations include China, Canada, and Germany.

I agree...

Although I think that China wants to get its economy back up an running as soon as possible... Cutting off its largest trade partner would be rather suicidal...

At the mercy of Canada Surely Baby Trudeau's self collection isn't that intimidating

Han-uckus Deploracus,

you must be desperate when providing us with too much information, including your "preferred" source.

And you've cleaned up the grammar for us, too, thank you so much. Which grammar is it, ours or Chinese?

Dear bylm1-Bernie,

I've read the book by Mr. Pillsbury you are referring to. I would recommend that you do the same before you ask naïve questions of a person you obviously trust more than Pillsbury or Wang.

The answer that Han-uckus Deploracus gives you is obvious to me, after having been exposed to his many equivocations and cryptic apologies for the Chinese C*******t leadership's misdeeds.

But I do not want to discourage you, just beware when he concludes his report with "Amen" or "God Bless".

Wh**ever it may be that troubles you about our Canadian friend, it would be nice if you could show some respect for him. He does, after all, have the right to speak his mind.

During my post-graduate studies in English and writing, I worked as an ESL tutor in the university language lab. One of my tutees was a Chinese exchange student. He was a bright young fellow but he struggled mightily with his term paper. Obviously, I could not write the paper for him, I could only guide him through it. He earned a "B+" as I recall. I still have the beautiful rice paper d**gon he made for me.

Another of my tutees was Vietnamese, she was truly intimidated by the whole thing, but that's another story.

When I graduated, my career counselor told me the Chinese were looking for English teachers (ESL). The pay was very good, I filled out an application but did not follow through. Became a skydiving instructor instead, pay was lousy, but the rewards were great.

Canuckus teaches English in China. Neither you nor I should assume we know what that is like. Kyle is one of the good guys, and I see no evidence whatsoever that he is a C*******t. Cut him some slack, OK?

God bless and Amen.

Guess I should have vetted Mr Pillsbury more carefully before I asked a question about his book. I wasn't aware that it was necessary prior to asking questions. I always like to get a bit of information from someone who is in a position to know more than someone who possibly isn't. I take it that CD rubs you the wrong way and I'm not sure if it's because of his right leanings or just his belief in God. It's predictable that practitioners of l*****t ideology will take offense at those who disagree with them.

I fail to see the connection here as to whom I trust or don't trust. I may not have read Pillsbury's book yet but what I know about him I heard from his own mouth. I suspect that his views do not agree with yours. As soon as I receive his book and am able to digest it, I will be able to see if CD's brief statement is valid or not.

bylm1-Bernie,

I agree with Michael Pillsbury's and Gordon Chang's views completely, and would like to explain why I originally suspected our Canadian friend of being a Chinese asset. My contacts in China eventually cleared him, but explained to me that no one lives successfully in China as a Conservative or a Christian.

It is only possible on an American blog site like OPP. You would not find a person of Han-uckus Deploracus' ilk on a Canadian blog site, there is simply no equivalent.

As for freedom of speech denial, this person some call "Kyle", has never responded to me and I don't blame him. Good instincts on his part, I do my research in order not to be gullible, and I consider the "bi-polar" life to be an affliction rather than a blessing.

Good luck with your reading.

thank you for your explanation. I had to take a ferry to Inchon, Korea every six months to renew my visa, then come back a tech ESL to Japanese corporate trainees in Kyoto. Did not learn to many ideograms, but spoke some Japanese-but not in a police speed check. I also learned quickly to drive on the wrong side of the road.
It seems your friend Kyle, who I call "Han-uckus Deploracus" comes up for air on this OPP site, because it is an American site, not Canadian (guess why?).
He is a smart ass, I am a smart ass, so we get on each other's nerves, is that so complicated?
Just rise to his defense, like he needs it, he is a "conservative" and "Christian" teacher in a C*******t nation, so it appears to me that he can fend for himself, NO?
