Sadly people cooped up with each other will blast each other in numbers much greater than those who protect themselves from the imaginary boogie men that live in their heads.

I live in a rural community, 150 miles from the nearest city, one highway in and out. Very religious community, more churches per capita than any place I know of. It is a patriotic community also, big supporters of our 2nd amendment - 80% of the residents own guns - h****rs, sportsmen, competitors, and defenders.

The governor has not yet imposed a statewide lock down, but folks here are observing the guidelines for dealing with the v***s. And Peace has descended upon us here. People are polite, cooperative, respectful, and willing to help each other through this. The local stores and businesses are doing their level best to keep things rolling along.

No one is brandishing firearms or threatening anyone in any way.

All is quiet on the Western Front.

Well said Blade as always... while not in a rural area so much am outside Denver by some 20 miles and our community is much as you say.. We have come together and help each other.. We turn our outside lights on at 8pm in solidarity of thanks to our hospitals, first responders, Gods grace and for the health of all.

We share if someone needs something and we take care of those truly shut in sharing TP. tissues. Cleaners. Disinfectants and typically bring some homemade cookies, muffins, wh**ever with it. We have an online neighborhood chat site where people can share wh**ever to include needs they have and they ARE answered!

And yes, we all, most anyway, have our weapons and altho we are open carry you hardly see any..No need, its known we have them, enough....

An old fellow representing one of our churches came by the other day. Brought a bushel of apples, a half bushel of tangerines, a bag of spuds, two dozen eggs, a fresh pineapple, a sack of pears, couple of honeydew melons, some jalapenos, and two bags of grapes.

I didn't ask for this, didn't really need all that food. Had no place to store it and couldn't possibly eat it all before it went bad, so I fired up my juicer and made several gallons of various fruit juices. Yum Yum.
