Pennylynn, There are lots heroes out there. Actually anybody that works with the public is a hero of mine. Everybody that stays home and doesn't mix with others is a hero. All those professional athletes and entertainers that are donating big bucks to beat this thing is a hero. Chris Cuomo the CNN commentator, Rachel Madow and other that tell it like it is, are heroes as well.

I’ll add: military service members hospital orderlies and janitors, teachers, bus drivers, pilots, and teachers, regardless of political affiliation.
(BTW, the members who ride the fire engines prefer to be called Fire Fighters; Firemen stoke the fires .)

On a forum? The definition of "firemen" is either "fire fighters" or "a person who tends a furnace", so it's not political correctness, it's language. Pennylynn's "firemen" reference is correct.

Last night, at the end of the PBS Newshour, there was a photo montage of all the hardworking American citizens doing their jobs. Over the photos, they played "Fanfare for the Common Man". It was very moving.

Derangement, derangement supercharged. That's what U call someone who does not appreciate a firemen who goes into his burning home , hauls his ass out on his shoulder. I think this statesman has no clue as to the meaning of the word even in spite of the definition U gave. Does he love only professional athletes?
