Odd shortage at this time, paint.

I ran into an old friend who does painting and remodling, which is stalled, except he has some vacant properties he can safely work in, but he cannot get the paint he needs. Of all of the shortages I expected, paint was not one of them. I found the paint and wire brushes I need to do one of my jobs that I can no longer rationalize not doing. That is scraping and repainting my outside iron railings. The weather is finally giving me small windows of opportunity where I can get some work done.

Speaking to the sales person it seems that everyone is sitting at home and is painting rooms in their homes. Who knew ?

Maybe all of the jackasses need to paint their toilet paper storage closets.

This crisis teaches us lessons. I will have to put paint on my emergency supply list, along with toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and beer for the next crisis. It is funny. In the 1970s I used to keep all of my vehicles fully fueled and had extra cans of gasoline around. Now gasoline is the one thing we have plenty of. My vehicles are full, but I have not bothered with my fuel cans. I have a couple of the old style.

If I could get my hands on the i***ts who designed the spouts on the newer gasoline cans, well I don't want to say what I would do, but. They must also be the same clowns who designed the gas caps on the new lawnmowers, or designed those same mowers without oil drain plugs so that you need to flip the mowers upside down to empty the oil.

Yep, I hear ya......and I bought 3 new cans to add to my others.....these have a weird ass spout, like a T with a pushbutton to let the fuel flow....would never work on a vehicle without another funnel.

My riding mower changes like a car...the new push one bought does not have a plug, the directions show to use a small hand t***sfer pump.......had to go buy one, who the hell just has one of those laying around?...me now

I said before, I have a cheap gasoline mower I bought a year or so ago, and I have never seen a worse design for a fuel cap. It constantly pops off and then cracked. I jury r****d a different cap. It just pisses me off when some left wing engineer royally fubars a simple design that has been around forever. Suddenly after a hundred years or so of gasoline engines we no longer know how to make a gas cap for a lawn mower or a spout for a gas can. Nor do we know how to put an oil drain plug on a lawn mower anymore.

Here is another shortage I just became aware of. A catalogue company where I used to do a lot of business with, sent me an E-mail saying they are having to restock ammunition resulting in delays filling orders. It does not affect me, but it shows another shortage.

Son of Witless and Weewilly modify our gas cans.

MAKE YOUR GAS CAN POUR PERFECTLY!
Universal fuel and water jug replacement spout kit. T***sfer fluids easily with the value replacement spout and vent kit. Work-around the auto-shut off (hard to use) feature of some gas cans with this replacement kit.
9" Flexible spout provides easy pour at any angle to the tank without spills by making it easy to bend the spout to reach any angle.
Compatible with most plastic gas cans including:Rubbermaid, Gott, Essence, Wedco, Briggs, Scepter, Eagle, Blitz, Midwest and most others, both old and new. Not for use with metal cans.
Diameter approximately 1 3/4". Due to wide tolerances in this manufacturer's spout opening, spout can be used with canister's original base cap when needed for fit.
Replace your old or hard to use gas can spout! Also includes 1/2" push in vent allowing a fast and safe perfect pour. Universal Replacement Spout and Vent Kit for Gas, Diesel and Water Cans. Be able to pour fluid easily from your gas, diesel and water cans. Fits most plastic cans!!

I solved my problem of the new spouts. I saw them off and they become a short spout so I do need a funnel but it beats spilling gas all over the place.

Thank you. I had found a replacement some time ago for the spout. I remember you had to press the end of the spout hard against wh**ever you were trying to fill, which made the gas can almost as useless as Obama.

My current problem is with my weed eater lawnmower. It had a plastic gas cap with bad threads on the outer part of a stem. The old metal caps had thread on the inner part which matched up with the outer threads of the fill on the old mowers. I cannot find a plastic cap that works. I have a jury rig metal cap on right now.

Again I would love to meet the engineers who suddenly re-engineered simple things that have been around forever. Almost like it was sabotage.

I try not to do that. I have old paint I need to go through and likely throw out.
