So would I. As well as individuals. However, I wasn't commenting on the merits of the argument, just the comparison made between the two. Therefore, you must have asked yourself "What's he talking about?" We don't know yet who needs it and who doesn't? This was an expensive gesture from both parties to gain more adherents to their madness. They both want to bolster the economy for a short time frame because one side thinks we will be back to business as usual in 6 months, and the other thinks to bankrupt this country can help usher in the socialistic NWO they want. Neither is right.

Oh... and democratic socialism is an oxy moron... kinda like jumbo shrimp! Kinda also up there with someone tellin me they are a fiscal conservative, but a social liberal... if they are fiscal conservatives, it would go against the grain to be a social liberal, how are they gonna pay for all their pet social programs.. simple... by jacking up taxes so high, there wouldn't be much of a paycheck...

Marijuana dispensaries have been deemed essential in CA but the Governor is leaving it up to each county's sheriff to decide about gun shops. Really?!!

It was my impression that income was the only qualification to get the checks, even if a person has had no change in income due to the v***s. IMHO, it SHOULD only go to those whose income has been interrupted and if that is actually the case, good.

Absolutely, that isn't hardly any money with high mortgages, utilities, etc! My husband and I are on SS, and had to go back to work to pay mortgage, and are raising a grandson with no help. Surely, Trump can't think that a $1200 check is big money with all the millions he has. I v**ed for him, and will again, but this is not going to help much at all, maybe a week. Would love to see Congress living off it. It wouldn't buy Pelosi's

I agree with nearly everything. Then there is Sicilianthing who is so obnoxious about this that you can't even talk to him. He has no vision for the future, only doom, and gloom. The world is not a nice place and Americans have become too complacent in their affluence, even the lower class, who live far better than most of the rest of the world. Trump is stuck between a rock and a hard spot. What is the alternative? Hillary? Biden? Bernie? God help us. Sometimes freedom can only be won and has to be renewed by the shedding of some patriotic blood. The left knows they are in for the fight of their life. They thought they won after Obama was re-elected and Hillary was their heir-apparent who was going to CYA all of the coastal blue-state elites. They will not go away quietly because they are patient, and if not now, they can wait until the next opportunity arises. And another opportunity will arise because we have to remain always vigilant against the enemies of freedom, liberty, and America. We almost fell asleep and let the progressive move us away from the original intentions and purpose of this great country.

Currently, we have a 23 trillion dollar national debt. At this point, what's $2 trillion more? we will emerge from this with lots of new winners and a lot of losers. It is unfortunate, but necessary to right this ship and put us back on course. I believe Trump has good instincts and is trying to undo the damage done by the left. He can't do it alone and he has many enemies against him. He is brash, bombastic, crude, pompous, turgid, coarse, and rude much of the time. he has to be because he is fighting a different kind of enemy. They won't give in to Mr. Nice Guy so that strategy is useless. He knew it and everyone who v**ed for him knew it. That's why they v**ed for him. He was the person we needed at that time. I had been convinced by his enemies that he was not a good guy. It took a long time to sell me on his methods. Mostly by watching the way the Democrats reacted to him, fought him at every juncture, even before he was elected and took office. I don't know how he continues to take the abuse he gets from the Democrats and the complicit media, day-after-day. He has a much tougher hide than I thought possible. What does he need to do this for? Why would he want to be President? I believe he is not the same man from ten, twenty, or thirty years ago. I think he truly cares about the average American. The ones who work and help build this country, who fight the wars, pay their taxes, go to church and believe in God and Jesus, and want their own children to grow up and have a better life. His base is the average guy, not the pretentious, ostentatious, creme-de-la-creme, elitist, high society. He has rubbed shoulders with them but he is the common man. He can only do so much as President. I think he has shown great restraint and stayed within the bounds of his authority and power as enumerated in the Constitution. The Opposition does not. They subscribe to the "Living Constitution." A document that can be interpreted anyway they want to suit the ends. They have proven this since the beginning of the Russian collusion investigation right through to impeachment and now this p******c.

I don't know what is the right thing to do. I don't think anyone else does either. Mostly they opine for political gain. Those who line up against him hope he fails so they can fill the void. Those who line up with him are facing a nearly insurmountable force that is trying to destroy America, freedom, and liberty for all mankind and make us all s***es to serve our elite masters who think they know what is best for us. The is a battle we cannot lose. The obstacles are almost overwhelmingly stacked against us. Like the Berlin Wall, a crack has formed and people see it. They are picking at it everyday until one day that wall will crumble. We need everyone who believes they know better than their masters must help pick at the wall, piece by piece,. before it is too late. Time is running out. There is a special place in hell for those who remain neutral in times of great crises to paraphrase Dante. There are still too many who have not yet weighed their options and chose their side. Not much time left to sit on the fence. We know who the enemies are! The question is, are we going to let them have their way without putting up a good fight to hold on to our vision for the future and our children's future are are we going to quietly let servitude sneak up on us and take over before we know what hit us?
I agree with nearly everything. Then there is Sic... (show quote)

Didn't congress give themselves a pay raise with the recovery bill? Maybe that was originally in it and later taken out. I hope you have your mortgage paid off soon. That's a big d**g on income, especially if you can't deduct the mortgage interest because you don't have enough income. About the only way, anyone can survive on SS, is to have a debt-free home. I'm so glad I got mine paid off when I retired and started collecting SS.

I hope the businesses that receive money stay around and can keep their employees and return to normal when this is over with. In a sense, the extra money going to businesses is to help the employees retain jobs.
But the law of unintended consequences will throw a monkey wrench into this.

It isn't just the $1200 per person + $500 per child. Businesses will be given loans with which they can pay their rent, insurance, utilities and pay their employees 90% of their salary. The amount of the loans to businesses that is actually used to make these payments does not have to paid back, only any additional amount that might be left over after paying expenses needs to be paid back. Those that qualify for unemployment insurance can apply for unemployment compensation and an additional amount, up to $600 per week, will be added to the standard unemployment benefit in wh**ever state they are in. Unless this continues for several months, it appears that some people will actually be collecting more than they were when they were working.

Well yes of course, that I knew.. I guess what I was trying to say, is that check, won't cover the average American's bills, period, no if ands or buts about it...I am glad that it will be available don't get me wrong.. but seriously, $1200.00 for a single for ONE month.. $2000.00 per couple, & $500.00 per child, Not near enough in most states... Most folks rent is exorbitant, as are utilities..It's a nice "thought" but it doesn't cover...period... Personally.. I think the Gov't should take a pay cut, and donate it to one of two places, either to help ease the national debt, OR to the constituents they were elected by!!... They should NOT by any stretch of the imagination be getting a pay RAISE!!!.. I know I didn't v**e for that, did you?? Personally, they are all useless and deserve to have their pay Docked for an indeterminate amount of time, until this country gets back on their feet.... As libs always say, they can afford it, they are mostly ALL miliionares in their own right, and I'd bet that alot of that is on the tax payers back... so... Hmmmm
