Even more of them cannot. Especially small businesses that are already in dire straits. If they had to meet a payroll right now, many of them couldn't. The benefits don't last as long as the crisis. I'm hopeful the crisis ends before the benefits do. If this is prolonged for any long period of time then the FED can print more money when they run out, right? There is always more where that came from.

Mark my words. When this p******c is over, in November, the President is going to get blamed for raising the National Debt more than the Magic Negro, (Al Sharpton's words) did even though it is the demoncrats adding pork barrel spending to the bailout bill. Mike

Like most good lefties you love to spout conspiracy theories to confuse any issue and detract from the facts.
All the epicenters of the v***s in America are in Democratic party controlled states and cities.

Explain how this was caused by Republicans.

With the senate stimulus bill people will receive the equivalent of nearly $25.00 per hour for up to the next four months in unemployment benefits. In many cases more than doubling what they were previously making while working.

How will businesses compete with the government and get their furloughed employees to come back before August?

Will small businesses still be able to operate their businesses with the economic hit they have already taken plus competing with the government on payroll expenses?

I see a slew of unintended or, perhaps, totally intended consequences to the congress's current actions.
With the senate stimulus bill people will receive ... (show quote)

Stryker: Valid points! We do know how many things [the] Democrats and Rinos do seem to morph those things into something not intended but to do. We'll just have to wait and see. We see the morphing effect on everything the Democrats and Rinos have done... from Social Security, welfare, names like illegal to undocumented which lessens the image. it goes on and on..

I just read that the stimulus bill passed by the Senate tonight is a $1200 per adult, $500 per child one time payment. And people can apply for unemployment. Your unemployment payment is based on your earnings.

You draw unemployment from the state and the last company that you worked for. Most people will not be able to draw unemployment. Also if you are a contractor and have not paid into unemployment then you cannot draw it.

How does it not make sense? The nation wants people to stay home from work. What better way to achieve that than paying people to do so?

The point is that when it is time to go back to work, a person collecting $36 an hour on unemployment will be loath to go back to work where he was earning $25 an hour.

A perfect example of how corrupt our whole congress is. I’m sure either their donors or themselves will somehow benefit from this giant waste of money.

That could be why the extra unemployment bonus expires after 4 months, and regular benefits will expire at the end of 9 months instead of the usual 6 month period.

How about the $600/week bonus for the first 4 months of unemployment from the relief bill in Congress? Won't they be eligible for that?

The benefits last as long as the crisis, and it looks like a lot of businesses will need to offer workers more money, and yes they can afford to.

He's never run a business. If he did he would have paid everyone $15.00/hr.
Hmm... Maybe he did and went bankrupt and had to move back in with mommy.

He absolutely knows nothing about small business many of whom barely keep afloat. Now that these businesses are closed and not making money, they will have trouble paying their rent, taxes and insurances, never mind trying to continue paying employees.

I think that any small business that accepts federal aid has to pay their employees $15 per hour minimum from then on

“Resistance is futile.” “You will comply.” “You will be assimilated.”
