The other side of the coin. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/texas-lt-gov-dan-patrick-says-grandparents-are-willing-to-die-to-save-economy-for-their-grandkids-2020-03-23 Of course, he caught Hell for expressing this type of opinion. Contrary to many on the Left, he DOES have the right to express his opinion. Kevy will be telling him to shut his pie hole, (like he did with Judge Jeanine) Our beloved President is trying to walk a tightrope.

There is plenty of "essential" travel going on by many elderly to take care of infecting them. They don't look too concerned about it. However, many in their thirties are walking around almost in hazmat suits; fearful.

Let the clown run his mouth all he wants, Hell, put him on TV and do nothing but correct it if he lies or misstates facts. A guy like this is a gift to democrats at the polls in November. The last decent leadership in the State of Texas was Ann Richards the 45th Governor, our nation could use a 45th President with her character and leadership instead we are saddled with the lying Cheeto faced S**tgibbon. Guys like Patrick will hand Texas to democratic leadership this fall and the rootin tootin, all hat and no cattle braggarts that make up much of the Texas Republican Party will lose their minds.

Don't be such a chicken $hit, kevy. Many old folks are willing, as he said, to have things continue with business as usual. Some will hide out and some won't. It should be their choice.

Everyone should weigh the risks and make their own choices. But we DO need accurate messaging from the media. Hmm. Never mind!

He certainly does have a right to express his opinion. Personally, I believe that life is the most important commodity. Grandkids need their grandparents. What kind of lesson are we teaching the next generation if we say its okay to sacrifice the elderly so that we can prosper? Is that what conservatives call " family values "? Is that pro life? I have no doubt that hard times are coming. We've been through them before, and we can do it again if necessary.

nwt, I can't speak for all people over sixty, but I stay in the house. This morning my wife and I went out to buy groceries. I wore plastic gloves, didn't go near other people, went early when the supermarket was only open to seniors, and washed my hands and face when I came home. On tv I saw lots of young people on the beach for Spring break. Why do they need Spring break? The colleges have closed for the rest of the year. I urge all people to take seriously the danger of this v***s. It moves quickly, we have no immunity, and can be deadly.

I think those are good precautions but from what I can see there are not enough precautions being taken to limit this v***s spread. Americans are simply not generally accepting of the limitations being placed upon them.

I went into a grocery yesterday for some beer and folks were coming our with tP so I figured I'd grab some. Limit one. But the store was filled with elderly and young alike. It was not a social distancing environment. I's imagine that is common across the country. At the self checkout line there was an old guy whose credit card was being denied and his only response was that he's 97 and doesn't understand why it would be denied. I tossed the girl from the store my care and she got him paid and moving on. He had no protection and was, in reality, quite incapable of taking precautions.

This v***s is like all like it; impossible to contain. We are wasting our time trying but hey, it's what the "experts" say to do. Fine. WE might slow the spread to ease up the load on the hospitals but no, it won't be contained. Those at risk will eventually get it. The only real hope is that it declines with warmer weather and mutates it's virulence out. We won't know until next year.
