Republicans say Dems blocking c****av***s relief over ‘ideological wish list’
Ronn Blitzer ~ March 23, 2020
Republicans are accusing Democrats of using the c****av***s p******c as an opportunity to push unrelated political agendas, as the two sides failed to reach an agreement Sunday night to advance legislation that would provide relief to American businesses and families struggling as a result of the outbreak.

On the Senate floor shortly after noon on Monday, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell lit into Democrats, specifically alleging they were trying to extract concessions from airlines over their "carbon footprint," with the economy h*****g in the balance.

“They ought to be embarrassed,” he said. “This is no time for this nonsense.”

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer countered that they were dealt an exclusively Republican-authored bill.

“We Democrats are trying to get things done, not making partisan speech after partisan speech,” he said.

Democrats overnight blocked the massive economic rescue package, teeing up new negotiations Monday morning. But issues having nothing to do with c****av***s have become impediments to the relief package, according to a senior Republican aide.

“As Leader Schumer continues to hold up the desperately-needed relief package, the last-minute list of demands from Pelosi’s and Schumer’s ideological wish list are coming into focus,” the aide said.

These include new collective bargaining powers for unions, higher fuel emissions standards for airlines, and expanded wind and solar tax credits.

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., confirmed this on Twitter Monday morning after the same information was tweeted by TownHall.com political editor Guy Benson.

"This report is correct. Pelosi & Schumer are willing to risk your life, your job, your retirement savings for a radical, left-wing wish list that has nothing to do with this v***s," Cotton said. "Disgraceful."

“Not only are these completely unrelated to the c****av***s epidemic, they could prevent companies from participating in the loan programs altogether—directly causing unnecessary layoffs,” the Senior Republican aide said.

After House Majority Whip Rep. Jim Clyburn, was reported by The Hill to have said that this is "a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision,” McConnell, R-Ky., warned against using the “Phase 3” c****av***s relief package as a political opportunity.

“That’s not what this is about," McConnell said. "This is not about unrelated policy changes, this is about direct assistance to the American people and to small businesses and to hospitals and others who are in need because we in government at all levels, in order to deal with this p******c, have basically shut the economy down.”

The Republican aide said the new Democratic demands arose after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi returned to Washington, D.C. from a weeklong House recess. Pelosi said the House would introduce their own bill as she was reportedly seeking a "laundry list" of items to be included in the emergency legislation, including wiping out up to $10,000 in student loan debt per person and securing e******n-security funding.

Other add-ons that Democrats including Pelosi have pushed for include food security aid, small business loans, and other measures for workers, The Associated Press reported, though these are more closely related to the crisis at hand.

Democrats including Schumer, D-N.Y., also claimed to have problems with the existing draft of the bill, arguing that the plan put forth by Senate Republicans was tilted toward corporations and did too little to help workers and health care providers.

Many Democrats had complained that the draft aid package did not go far enough to provide health care and unemployment aid for Americans, and failed to put restraints on a proposed $500 billion "slush fund" for corporations, saying the ban on corporate stock buy-backs are weak and the limits on executive pay would last only two years.

“There were some serious problems with the bill leader McConnell laid down. Huge amounts of corporate bailout funds without restrictions or without oversight -- you wouldn’t even know who is getting the money. Not enough money for hospitals, nurses, PPE, masks, all the health care needs. No money for state and local government, many of whom would go broke. Many other things,” Schumer said.

Earlier Sunday, it had seemed that the two sides were close to an agreement. While McConnell had recognized that there was still "elbowing and maneuvering for room" taking place, the legislation had bipartisan support including from "a lot of rank-and-file Democrats who were involved in drafting it."

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell lit into Democrats, specifically alleging they were trying to extract concessions from airlines over their "carbon footprint," with the economy h*****g in the balance.

>>>Does the carbon footprint cause Kung Flu? No. So screw those bastard Democrats. Save your biased agenda for another time.

"This report is correct. Pelosi & Schumer are willing to risk your life, your job, your retirement savings for a radical, left-wing wish list that has nothing to do with this v***s," Cotton said. "Disgraceful."

>>> Those bastards should be fired by their constituents. But it won't happen.

“That’s not what this is about," McConnell said. "This is not about unrelated policy changes, this is about direct assistance to the American people and to small businesses and to hospitals and others who are in need because we in government at all levels, in order to deal with this p******c, have basically shut the economy down.”

>>>And as many might dislike McConnell, he is 100% right on this one

including wiping out up to $10,000 in student loan debt per person and securing e******n-security funding.

>>>Postponing payments and no additional interest until the crisis is over is one thing. But this is just another cheap Democrat handout looking for v**es from those very studeints. They took on the debt, that need to pay their debts.

This is the time for relevant contributions to the formation of the bill. The Democrats are showing their usual stripes that resemble Zebras but would look better on their clothes, black and white stripes.

Did you read the oil company bailout package did you take the time to read and understand what regulations the democrats wanted to assure where these tax payer funds would be spent. That blowhard stood on the Senate floor and totally lied he took one section of the energy sector which was tax incentives for g***n e****y but that blowhard said nothing about the oil and gas sector that will not receive a grant check that would have to be paid back but a subsidy check with no regulations attached and will not have to pay it back., G***n E****y makes up almost 20% of the energy produced in this country they are the fastest growing energy producer of creating good paying jobs. Then that blowhard McConnell failed to tell you that small business will receive low interest loans that have to be paid back but the major corporation get a government subsidy that does not have to be paid back and no restrictions as to where tax payer funds were to be spent.

These blowhard republicans did the same thing under the Bush administration recession remember TARP they gave $768 billion dollars in subsidies to the to big to fail banks that created the recession because of a Republican held house and senate that removed all the regulations. These banks got bailed out by the taxpayers and what did they do over the next 16 months they kicked over 5 million homeowners from there homes. The same thing will happen again Trump just 2 years ago gave a 19% tax cut to the corporate elite in this country that added $2.4 trillion in a deficit financed bill. Now republicans want to repeat the same BS and cut a government check with no strings attached. Only a Trump support can actually think this is right.

Now the Democrats over the last week had negotiated a bi partisan agreement with that blow hard McConnell and when that bill came to the floor McConnell removed the regulation as to how these funds were to be spent did that blowhard tell you that. Then he stands on the floor and makes a political speech as to how democrats are holding up a stimulus bill that AMERICAN people really need. That was nothing even close with what was negotiated. That blowhard stuck it to the democrats and McConnell knew Damm right well that bill would not pass because of the democratic amendments that he removed. Then stands there on the Senate floor and lied and misinformed the AMERICAN people that the large corporations receive a subsidy that does not have to be paid back and small business gets a loan.

What the hell is it with Republicans we gave the corporate elite a 19% tax cut now they want to give them a subsidy on top of all the oil and gas sub they are receiving add in the massive number of tax loopholes I just don’t understand how you people think.

Another corporate bailout with no strings attached
