Here, take a read:Axios has compiled a timeline of the earliest weeks of the c****av***s outbreak in China, highlighting when the cover-up started and ended — and showing how, during that time, the v***s already started spreading around the world, including to the United States.

Why it matters: A study published in March indicated that if Chinese authorities had acted three weeks earlier than they did, the number of c****av***s cases could have been reduced by 95% and its geographic spread limited.

This timeline, compiled from information reported by the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, the South China Morning Post and other sources, shows that China's cover-up and the delay in serious measures to contain the v***s lasted about three weeks.

Dec. 10: Wei Guixian, one of the earliest known c****av***s patients, starts feeling ill.

Dec. 16: Patient admitted to W***n Central Hospital with infection in both lungs but resistant to anti-flu drugs. Staff later learned he worked at a wildlife market connected to the outbreak.

Dec. 27: W***n health officials are told that a new c****av***s is causing the illness.

Dec. 30:

Ai Fen, a top director at W***n Central Hospital, posts information on WeChat about the new v***s. She was reprimanded for doing so and told not to spread information about it.
W***n doctor Li Wenliang also shares information on WeChat about the new SARS-like v***s. He is called in for questioning shortly afterward.
W***n health commission notifies hospitals of a “pneumonia of unclear cause” and orders them to report any related information.
Dec. 31:

W***n health officials confirm 27 cases of illness and close a market they think is related to the v***s' spread.
China tells the World Health Organization’s China office about the cases of an unknown illness.
Jan. 1: W***n Public Security Bureau brings in for questioning eight doctors who had posted information about the illness on WeChat.

An official at the Hubei Provincial Health Commission orders labs, which had already determined that the novel v***s was similar to SARS, to stop testing samples and to destroy existing samples.
Jan. 2: Chinese researchers map the new c****av***s' complete genetic information. This information is not made public until Jan. 9.

Jan. 7: Xi Jinping becomes involved in the response.

Jan. 9: China announces it has mapped the c****av***s genome.

Jan. 11–17: Important prescheduled CCP meeting held in W***n. During that time, the W***n Health Commission insists there are no new cases.

Jan. 13: First c****av***s case reported in Thailand, the first known case outside China.

Jan. 14: WHO announces Chinese authorities have seen "no clear evidence of human-to-human t***smission of the novel c****av***s."

Jan. 15: The patient who becomes the first confirmed U.S. case leaves W***n and arrives in the U.S., carrying the c****av***s.

Jan. 18:

The W***n Health Commission announces four new cases.
Annual W***n Lunar New Year banquet. Tens of thousands of people gathered for a potluck.
Jan. 19: Beijing sends epidemiologists to W***n.

Jan. 20:

The first case announced in South Korea.
Zhong Nanshan, a top Chinese doctor who is helping to coordinate the c****av***s response, announces the v***s can be passed between people.
Jan. 21:

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirms the first c****av***s case in the United States.
CCP f**gship newspaper People’s Daily mentions the c****av***s epidemic and Xi's actions to fight it for the first time.
China's top political commission in charge of law and order warns that “anyone who deliberately delays and hides the reporting of [v***s] cases out of his or her own self-interest will be nailed on the pillar of shame for eternity."
Jan. 23: W***n and three other cities are put on lockdown. Right around this time, approximately 5 million people leave the city without being screened for the illness.

Jan. 24–30: China celebrates the Lunar New Year holiday. Hundreds of millions of people are in t***sit around the country as they visit relatives.

Jan. 24: China extends the lockdown to cover 36 million people and starts to rapidly build a new hospital in W***n. From this point, very strict measures continue to be implemented around the country for the rest of the epidemic.

The bottom line: China is now trying to create a narrative that it's an example of how to handle this crisis when in fact its early actions led to the v***s spreading around the globe.

I always get a chuckle out of people who compare anything in the US to any other country. South Korea is a totally different country than we are, fewer people, less area to cover, and most of the population is located in one area which makes it easier to set up drive through testing sites. I love to hear the arguments from some about how things work in smaller European countries and so they should work here as well, never mind that we have a completely different and more diverse population, spread out over more area, with different cultural backgrounds and even some different languages prevalent and different religious beliefs with differing taboos and commands-the US is one of the few countries that does not have an official language-so the socialized medicine of Canada or Sweden that works for them, would not work here much as you might think it should. We are not as homogenious a population and we take some p***e in our spirit of independence, though I admit that is becoming less and less as we ask the government to take over more and more parts of our lives. We are even to the point of giving up our right to defend ourselves from our government and certainly our right to assemble has been freely, willingly tossed aside too easily to my way of thinking. I would like to know what constitutes "fitness for office" in your opinion. Seriously.

Mr. plain logic, What you forgot to mention was your dump ass President Trump brought this to the attention of the American people in his state of the union address on Jan. 4th.
Mr. president said there was an out brake of the c****av***s in china and we are keeping an eye on this crisis and that when the weather starts to warm up it should go away.

Tell that to the young people who aren't in any danger who now can't work and pay bills or make a living. I am in shock over how easily the American people have allowed their freedoms to be removed and it ain't over yet. There will be more of our freedom removed.

Simple solution to the entire problem. Educate the public and tell those over 70 with pre-existing conditions to isolate themselves or at the very least avoid contact with anyone. And we can distance our selves from others, voluntarily, without closing all businesses. And certainly don't give us predictions of millions dead in the US.
