Hello my name is Steve, I am curious about how everyone feels about elect autos. They are now getting them to go a long way without charging, when the battery goes dead do they a backup system to limp you to a charging station or are you just dead in the water. How long do battery last and are they expensive? I was raised in the late 50’s and the sixties so I was here during the muscle car era. I like the aceleration and the performance of the muscle cars
I have a 1969 SS396 4- speed Chevelle convertible, I think it would be hard for me to change to a electric vehicle.

Hang onto it, gas is about to get really cheap. Thanks to Putin and the Saud's oil war. It could just be a way of putting fracking here out of business for a while.

Some electric cars are quicker, owned a 69 SS396 4-speed hardtop.
Sold a few years ago.
There could be enough value now in yours to buy an electric.
Your's easy to repair, electric might get expensive after the warranty runs out.

No I was not intending to get rid of my Chevelle, I have owned it for about 25 years or more. I’m sure one of my kids, grandkids or great grandkids would like to own it. I have four other vehicles that might go though.

Stick to gas power or diesel . I live in Arizona, good luck finding battery be power parts .

You may be surprised but electric cars really have lots of torque. With electric motors on at least two wheels they accelerate fast. The strange thing about them is that the motors whine a bit when stressed. I loved driving them. We used them for interoffice mail.
