I worked for a few years with a young man who had came to the US (legally by the way) from Germany.
One of the things he said that stuck in my memory was the requirement that if, in Germany, when a person moved from one town to another he/she was required register himself/herself at the police department in the new place of residence.
Sadly there are citizens of The USA would be ok with a requirement like that.

Of the horror of shutting down bars and public places and expediting replacement wages so hard working people can survive, as opposed to republican welfare that gives tens of billions to billionaires and corporations that will survive better than the workers who won't.

Makes taking a census irrelevant and helps to ensure that the government is aware of who is living where....
