Right. I yelled at them few days ago. Sent email why so many were not screened. It was not the fault of the president. He is trying the best.

This v***s is the first time that came in and very infectious.

Once again you spin and twist. Trump said blaming him for the v***s by the press and the Democrats was a h**x. Action was relatively quick in a country this size, with an unknown pathogen. Look at the cases in the rest of the world. Italy, S. Korea. There are others. It's not the speed of the reaction but the effectiveness. Previous administrations never declared a travel ban over new flu epidemics.

J, let me mention once more, one of the reasons this p******c is so concerning to the medical community is because it is all new..

It is not the Flu..

We do not seem to be as effective as some other countries, but it is not so much the delay.. more of a problem has been trump refusal to see what is happening in front of our eyes. and his..

Never before have we had this v***s.. no one knows how it will play out.. could recur in people as a second round. it could become as common as the winter colds each year.. it could leave after effects that harm the apparently cured patient..

Other countries, If i paid attention, it seems Italy and S.K. are the good and bad extremes of reaction and we are following about 2 weeks behind Italy as the bad reaction role..

I know you h**e the NYT but the rest of the world does not.. this is one story, many links to the similar information on the search..

A Complete List of Trump’s Attempts to Play Down C****av***s
He could have taken action. He didn’t.

President Trump made his first public comments about the c****av***s on Jan. 22, in a television interview from Davos with CNBC’s Joe Kernen. The first American case had been announced the day before, and Kernen asked Trump, “Are there worries about a p******c at this point?”

The president responded: “No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.”

By this point, the seriousness of the v***s was becoming clearer. It had spread from China to four other countries. China was starting to take drastic measures and was on the verge of closing off the city of W***n.

In the weeks that followed, Trump faced a series of choices. He could have taken aggressive measures to slow the spread of the v***s. He could have insisted that the United States ramp up efforts to produce test kits. He could have emphasized the risks that the v***s presented and urged Americans to take precautions if they had reason to believe they were sick. He could have used the powers of the presidency to reduce the number of people who would ultimately get sick.

Better stay inside, Frosty. I see my favorite place in Tower is 12 degrees. Might be a good day to go out and do a little ice fishing although I think walleye season isn't open for a few months. I don't know what to tell you about the game wardens. They might be out too. You'd better have at least a 30 inch auger if you're that far north. Take care.

We had something in the teens this am.. now. 2;30 pm, we have melting of the glacer.. Sun shine and blue sky.. truly nice day..
someone said 47 degrees.. a happy voice..

I would love a walleye lunch/dinner about now..

Yes, the ice has still got a thick bed for sure..

With cities and states across the country going into shut down mode, the economy is taking a big hit, and if the 'shut down' lasts 6 or 8 weeks as some 'experts' are predicting, and the country falls into recession, trump can kiss his ree******n good bye.

And if that happens, as bad as Biden is, he will benefit from the recovery with out deserving it.

You're just having another wet dream! Mike

I keep tampons and sanitary napkins in my first aid kits. The tampons for bullet holes and the like and the napkins for gashes to stem blood flow. Mike

You really don't understand macro economics do you?

In a stable economy things go along as they are going despite doing things that can change course. The economy takes a long time to shift or correct. Changes might take a year or more to be felt, and when a dozen things are done the effect is compounded and magnified. Trump has been doing things that were not felt immediately, but experts who understand cause and effect can relatively easily predict what the effects will be.

A recovery will be about making changes to stupid things Trump did that anyone who calls himself an economist could predict will slow down the economy. Obama made changes to the stupid things Bush had done, that is what changed the economy. Trump is doing things that will predictably tank an economy, one of the first and biggest things was the i***tic tax cuts when if ever there was a time not to do that it was then. Trump took a stable economy and trashed it, and it is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

This country is going to be in shape by the e******n that makes the Bush 2007/2008 economy look fantastic, and speaking about a reality is not wishing for it to happen anymore than praying for a better outcome is going to make it happen.

Good morning Bernie,,

I agree with much of your post.. but will skip to the econ issue..

With all this commotion i have become concerned for my offspring welfare.. they all say they are fine at least for now..

But I also did a bit of looking at the economy. first time in a long time..

7 of the 10 largest world economies were negative growth in the first Q of 2020, the US was also nearly negative, but did manage to stay above that bar..

Obviously, for the 2nd Q, all these economies, including the US will be negative..

The stock market has lost all the gains made in the last 3 plus years.. we can hope for a small rebound today, but it is clear that the great gains of the last 10 plus years are over for a while and we will be reorganizing and going for a new start .... ASAP...

We could go on about other points you make, but it will be a fine day here in the north land.. and I gotta force the energy to do something outside in a couple hrs.

Have a nice day..
Good morning Bernie,, br br I agree with much of... (show quote)

Permi, when you get an answer for a friend, let me know too. On the side, the stock market is not the economy but when bars and restaurants etc. close, then the economy is going to suffer. Mike
