Bret Stephens makes a compelling case.

"Very stable genius. Millions of Trump’s supporters aren’t blind to the president’s clownishness and ignorance. But they’ve been relatively indifferent to both, because they find the first entertaining and the second irrelevant to his overall performance. Who cares what a president knows about epidemiology, so long as the markets are up?

They care now. The c****av***s has exposed the falsehood of so many notions Trump’s base holds about the presidency: that experts are unnecessary; that hunches are a substitute for knowledge; that competence in administration is overrated; that every criticism is a h**x; and that everything that happens in Washington is B.S. Above all, it has devastated the conceit that having an epic narcissist in the White House is a riskless proposition at a time of extreme risk."

And this too will pass, and come September or October everyone will have long forgotten about C****-** and the Markets will be back up. But the real question is, do you think Biden, Hillary of the Democrats would have handled this any better? I seriously doubt it. The party in power takes the blame, regardless. Neither party has a leg up on the other. This is one of those things that no matter how much to plan ahead for it, human nature being what it is you will not get the cooperation you need. It only takes a few to throw a monkey wrench in the workings. Jet Blue has permanently banned a passenger who tested positive and still flew. Italy had a Muslim who was positive and instructed to self-quarantine for two weeks but he continued to go to work. He is being criminally charged.

Unfortunately for you, Trump's supporters do not see it that way. Each event and crisis is viewed by the left as Trump's " Waterloo ".

The Times writers keep believing that they know the minds of the Trump V**ers. So far they have been wrong. They only know the minds of people who think in lock step with them.

They would have to convince Trump v**ers that their guys would have done better. Obama's record on the H1N1 and the BP oil spill do not show that Democrat Presidents handle a crisis any better or even as good.

Now come on, trump had an Uncle who was a Professor at MIT...................so it's entirely possible he inhaled some genius breath, or absorbed it through his skin.......................like a frog.

When you're your own expert on everything, why have someone else around to tell you you're full of crap?

You sir are not living in the real world, it this were "handled" in two months, which in reality it will not have even peaked and reached a plateau, this will have devastating effects on the economy. This is hurting businesses... what do you think it is doing to airlines and scheduled flights? How about cruise lines, they are parking their ships, I would be surprised if they resume within 6 months.

A best case scenario is devastating to the economy, stretch it and it is a k**ler to a vast array of businesses.

Trump has huge corporations lining up for money they do not need, they will survive without it. Their employees need direct replacement for lost wages and related expenses to C****av***s. Any amount of money being looked at for corporations needs to be given directly to people where it will do the most good.

Obama was saddled with a GOP that wouldn't cooperate with anything he wanted to do, and by the way "Obama's" Global Health and Biodefense agency would have done far more starting in January than trump did until last week finally.

On a health emergency Republicans would not have stood in the way. If you have proof to the contrary, I am all ears. Gee, Obama was all ears too.

We can see how many thousands of US citizens have died of H1N1. Good work experts! Trump reacted better than Obama and his experts.

So sorry but as this becomes not as big a deal as H1N1eople will realize how the trump hating media led them to panic.

In the end,Trump wins again.
