As far as this outbreak is concerned the early stages could have been handled better. Maybe. Why do I say this? Because the government is made of people. People make mistakes all the time. Let's look at the Swine Flu under the Obama administration. In 2009 the H1N1 v***s had k**led over 1000 and hospitalized 20,000 Americans. Only then did Obama declare a national emergency. The CDC said 60.8 million Americans were infected with approximately 13,000 dead later from the v***s. Not one travel ban. I don't remember anyone being outraged. I wasn't and shouldn't have been. Just these facts alone prove just how biased the MSM is and how disingenuous the Democrat Party is.
On a side note; Trump has been declaring China the number one enemy of the U.S. for years. Now China says they should turn America into the number one place for the flu. They are spreading propaganda that states the U. S. military started this p******c. We should never trade with China and cut off diplomatic relations with the little yellow bastards IMO. People they are our enemy.

Enemy or not, our country is much too entangled with that nation. We allow China to make too many products Anericans buy. BUT, to rely on China, or any other nation, for ANYTHING related to our medicines is simply beyond insane. It is my opinion that the USA should be producing EVERYTHING necessary for daily life and health, never relying of others for such. Sure, luxuries, exotics, etc, fine, let Americans buy those if they choose, but we need to return to total responsibility for ourselves. The world aside, there is much safety abd security in knowing no matter what happens in any other part of the world, we make/have all we need to survive.

We are entangled. Untangling would cause pain, but Americans used to take pain for the good of the country. Telling China to stick it would be great for us in the long run IMO.

I agree. I've been saying for a long time that they are not our friends. So why do we give them an economy. Every worthless piece of crap they make, we buy up by the boat load just to fill our landfills. Why? So they can prosper? 0n our dime? At least President Trump worked out a reasonable tariff deal for the U. S. And the Democrats still complain. I'm stepping down from my soapbox now . (American Made).

I agree. Everything the U.S. does the liberals consider harmful, such as producing carbon China puts out way more. Yet, the liberals in Washington love China. They've even gone far enough to declare the name W***n v***s is r****t.

China has been thieving our intellectual properties for years. They also send their kids to college and universities to still intellectual properties. Now, they steal thru the IT, embedded on different programs.

The v***s has been with China before December 2019. They had been hiding to keep their reputation high, thinking it will just dissolve, or go away. When it could not be controlled, that was the time, US knew about it, too late. US though waited few more weeks. US should have closed travel from China as soon as they've known it. And close also those widely infected countries soon as possible. Did not happen. And Democrats attacked the president of being r****t, and xenaphobic.

There was that guy from China and SK came back to Seattle, and from there spread widely the v***s. Now I think 32 deaths in Seattle, and King County, 250 infected.

The C***d ** is very infectious. Once a person gets contact, or even 3 feet away, that person is infected, and spreads further all over.
Prevention should be like this.
1. Could have stopped travel from countries with v***s right away, early Dec. 2019.
2. Not allow those v***s infected from cruises to get out. Treat them there until they get well.
3. Those able to enter US, with suspected v***s must have been quarantined or isolated right away. But some were allowed to stay home.
4. Allow all labs to create v*****e. Don't limit to 2 or few. This is a competition for them. The need for v*****e is desperate and a priority.

You’re wrong on much of what you say here. But I don’t feel like arguing.

That's okay for you to have your own. Won't bother me. I'd appreciate if you put up your reasons though.

Trading with the enemy. In general, trade benefits both nations, and make both wealthier because they can dev**e their resources and energy to what they do best, and what someone can do cheaper is best left to that other trading partner. It would be impossible to become totally self-sufficient.

When I worked in Aerospace many years ago, you had prime contractors. They didn't manufacture every part. In fact, they subcontracted many systems and parts out to sub-contractors. The prime contractor was responsible for the finished product. The design, tested, assembled, and took the heat for something that didn't work. The subcontractors also had to subcontract much of the work for materials just to manufacture the parts they did produce in-house, and so much more. So on and so on, down the line.

I read where VW has 50,000 first-tier suppliers who manufacture parts and supply materials in the manufacture of their cars. On average each of these subcontractors has 250 suppliers they do business with from which they obtain the materials, tooling, and so very much more. Every business is interdependent on a huge worldwide supply chain that is interconnected for materials and products, either directly or indirectly. W***n, China has about 40,000 prime contractors who supply parts, materials, supplies, tooling, and much more to American businesses. Suppose the plastic bottle cap to the bottle of alcohol that everyone is buying do to the C****-** p******c was made in W***n and that supply was interrupted by the p******c. Companies have to scramble to line up a secondary supplier to produce the same item if it is not available from the primary supplier. Or, maybe the raw material of plastic is not available to make the caps. Some companies have these back-up vendors already in place, and some don't. Regardless, somewhere along the supply line, there will be other interruptions. All of this leads to disruptions and no amount of government command of the economy can change this. That's part of the reason that China had to adopt some capitalist ways in their economy, even while the political structure has remained c*******t. We are interdependent on each other whether we like it or not.

However, this doesn't mean we should be giving them proprietary information that is necessary to our security and safety as a nation.
