According to the European Environment Agency (EEA), electric vehicles have an ecosystem and human toxicity impact twice as high as typical combustion engine vehicles. See, electric vehicle manufacturing makes heavy use of critical minerals, most notably cobalt and lithium, that are concentrated in specific parts of the world.

I have been preaching this for years along w/ the fact wind turbine blades are not recyclable & have relatively short life spans. China just about has cobalt monopoly, having gone after it in Africa early on.

Trying to have a conversation w/ someone like AOC or most of “Greenies” of any age quickly reminds me how poorly educated they are. They are indoctrinated.

As a side note: Where do the electric vehicles get their electricity to charge - from coal fired power plants.

Funny you mention that. I got in a conversation on a plane with a young man from CA who was a sales rep for one of the tech giants. He lived in CA but worked in Dearborn. I asked him why he did not live in Dearborn, wasn’t it ridiculous to fly back & forth every week? He assured me his company could afford it. I told him if I were a customer, I would not pay for it.

He told me they did not expect anyone to live in such a polluted environment as the Detroit/Dearborn areas. He said they still use coal here.

I asked where does your electricity come from? He said they imported what they needed. I asked if he knew specifically where it came from? He finally said he did not. I asked him if he would use coal generated electricity from Detroit/Dearborn or nuclear from GA, SC, Fl? He said no. I told him he used everyday in CA. He argued the Governor would not allow that. I explained the grid to him, burst his bubble. He asked me how I knew all this? I told him I worked in super critical high pressure generating plants, coal fired, gas fired, nuclear & had to be sure we had suppliers capable to take a load when we took a generating plant off line. He advised me there was a way to tell where electricity came from.

I gave up & went back to reading a book. After a few minutes, he said nuclear powered electricity has to be radioactive. I told him it most certainly is & he needed to call his power company in CA to be sure they were scrubbing the radiation any electricity that came from nuclear plants.
